Having been lulled into trying another budget Ibis by our experiences in the Ibis Budget Angouleme we tried this one at Chartres.
It is on a garage forecourt on a traffic island between two very busy roads with the associated noise.
The reception staff were friendly and sorted out a billing problem with the minimum of fuss, ( do check your bill as i was initially charged 25 euros for a small dog).
At 4.45am we were woken by the occupants of the adjacent room banging doors, flushing toilets and possibly having a row, certainly there were raised voices.
Why the hotel does not ask for an indication of the time of departure and then group all the early risers in the same area i fail to understand.
The rooms are, to say the least ,minute with only what looks like a single kitchen stepup to sit on.
To shower was to take ones life in ones hands. The shower curtain, being too short, allowed quantities of water to splash over onto to the laminate flooring, causing my wife to execute a triple salchow of which Torville and Dean would have been proud.
Best I do not describe the "continental breakfast, which we took 2 hours earlier than we intended partly due to the aforementioned neighbours and what appeared to be a wedding party ARRIVING with their attendant noise around 06.00!!More
