We didn't get the audio guide, but it was easy enough to follow along using the booklet. Absolutely beautiful palace and very scenic as it is built over the river. Definitely a place to visit if you have the time while in France.

Chenonceau is easily toured in a couple of hours. It's a lovely, small chateau in a beautiful spot on the river Cher. We did not get the audio guide, but the signage and the booklet (in English) covered all the highlights for us. It's a good introduction to the chateaux of the Loire Valley or a good pick for those visitors that do not have time to go through several. One of the more interesting aspects of the Chateau is its part in WW2 where the line between "free" and occupied France went right through the castle--so it was used as a way to sneak Jewish people out. It's well worth visiting this chateau. Note that bathroom facilities are minimal and as a consequence there can be lengthy lines (when tour groups come in, which is very common).

Took our 11 and 12 year old granddaughters and they loved it.
We rented the audio-guides which were very good. The chateau is unique in its beauty and well maintained. Gives you a good sense of how lavish a lifestyle the royalty enjoyed. Lots of walking involved.

This chateau is high on the list of must-sees in the Loire Valley. It is beautifully built over a river with gardens (potage and ornamental) to satisfy all. An interesting exhibit shows how over the centuries of construction and decoration of the chateau various women were influential in creating the idyllic "home". The day we visited it never stopped raining but we still enjoyed walking through the gardens, exploring the park and of course, the building. Foodies will enjoy seeing the amazing kitchen(s)

Truly memorable castle over the water with great gardens, a maze and some interesting ancient ... and modern!...history.
Unfortunately we only had time to visit one of the amazing castles in the area, but we are very glad we made it this one!
