Had a very nice time at the castle. The interior was very interesting. We used the pamphlet as our guide book. It had enough information for an interesting tour. It was also nice to walk along the river and enjoy the gardens and the kids liked the maze. Very beautiful setting and well worth a stop while in the area.

The night walk through the illuminated grounds while listening to classical music piped throughout the gardens is an amazing experience and not to be missed. They also allow dogs on a lead at no extra cost!

We visited the château by night, an option available in summer. For 6€, the entry only permitted us to wander around the gardens and see the castle from the outside.

Yes, it was quite beautiful to see the building lit, and the reflection on the surrounding river made for some lovely photos, but we were quite disappointed that we couldn’t go into the castle. It was also almost impossible to find toilets in the place. There was a hedge maze too, but having heard some rather disturbing screams, we felt quite put-off and reluctant to have a wander through ourselves, as it felt too much like a children’s playground.

The one good thing we could think of about visiting at night is the lack of crowds.

The definitely womens touch is plain to see ; the chateax is really impressive and we also did the night walk ( additional 6eu , but worth it) . there is baroque music being played and you are afraid to be trampled by some passing night on his war horse in shining armor....

The place is really nice by itself, thought not as big as it looks on the pictures. But way to many people. The security is not really nice, there are no pick unique allowed on the area, OK we got it. But the security asking if we have any sandwiches? Really? If you like crowded places you should go.
