on the outskirts of the town center, La Treille is a restaurant attached to a bar/hotel, which apparently has been operating for some hundred years. Anyway, they've got a simple but excellent menu - changing daily entree-plat-dessert for around 20 eur and a few items on the regular menu. Good kid's menu, several choices for my 5-yr old. We walked by around 1830, they were still not open, so had a drink at a bar around the corner. At 1915 the restaurant door still not open (menu sign on the street though), so I went into their bar next door and asked. they happily opened up and let us in.
Meal was excellent, good presentation, great food. Waitress was very nice and kind to my son. Very much enjoyed dinner, and I'll eat there again next time I'm in Chinon.
