“Another great stay”
Reviewed 16 January 2018 for a stay in August 2017

Our second visit last August 2017, just as good as the first.

Quiet, tranquil and away from it all, surrounded by farmland and green fields. No light pollution or traffic noise. If that is what you are after this is the place to stay.

Situated in rural France, the Gite is really well equipped, Tim and Juliette are great hosts. All you need is your wine, cheese and food for the BBQ, a good book and you can forget about all the stress in your life.

If the weather is poor there are plenty of places to drive to within a short drive.

Unfortunately, work on our house this year dictates different plans, so someone else will see the benefits of this great place.

“Peaceful, good quality, gite in lovely countryside with welcoming owners”
Reviewed 13 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

An nicely converted barn that has made a spacious, comfortable and well-equipped gite in beautiful Indre countryside that is ideal for walking, cycling and seeing local wildlife....or just relaxing. Friendly and welcoming on-site owners who are customer-focused with thoughtful touches, like a welcome pack of home-made goodies, and who are on-hand if needed and yet are not intrusive.

“Escape to the country”
Reviewed 13 August 2017 for a stay in July 2017

After a stressful year so far, my wife and I and two teenage daughters needed a break with some peace.
Juliet and Tim gave us a warm welcome and even gave us bread, jam, eggs and a bottle of wine, which was a wonderful gesture.
The accomodation was beautiful in a stunning area. We spent our evenings sat on the patio with a drink, and all you could hear were the crickets. The pool is clean and a great size and the kids used it constantly. We also made good use of the barbeque. The garden is huge and really well maintained.
Inside, the place is immaculately clean and comfortable with real character.
Tim and Juliet are on hand to help with anything and leave you be to enjoy your holiday.
A car is essential. The Saturday morning market in La Chatre (20 mins) is recommended and there are also a couuple of supermarkets there for all your essentials. We didn't venture too far but there are historical places to visit which do require a car.
I am a keen runner and used the tracks around the area to do some training which I really enjoyed. Bikers and walkers would love it.
Overall, if its a 'chill out' time you are looking for, this is it, and if you like to het in the car and explore, you will love it. Highly recommended.

“Best yet and great value for money”
Reviewed 3 April 2017 for a stay in August 2016

A bit belated but we stayed at the Gite for 2 weeks in August, we are very particular with our taste of accommodation and also had the addition of our dog Kizzy to consider.

The pictures and description do not do this place justice. It has been lovingly restored to a very high standard by Tim and been furnished superbly by Juliette, the perfect hosts.

We love to self cater in France and everything you need in the gite is in there. The homemade cake and eggs were very welcome.

All we wanted was the tranquillity, the ability to completely unwind and do nothing but relax and read a book and this place was perfect and Kizzy loved it, she had the run of the place.

We have never returned to the same place twice for a summer holiday, but we are this year, back in July, for another relaxing two weeks so we cannot recommend it more than that.

“Brilliant - What a lovely place and super duper hosts!”
Reviewed 10 March 2017 for a stay in February 2017

The cottage was so well equipped and really clean, warm and friendly. Amazing views, so quiet and peaceful and with a small town and supermarkets, and traditional shops about 6km away. Real France and very rural. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Great place for writers, artists or just a week of getting away from it all and even though it was very chilly in February we were really comfortable indoors. Would really recommend this for summer, spring or winter break away.

“Quiet and pretty place - just what we needed.”
Reviewed 24 February 2017 for a stay in November 2016

We stayed for a week here in November, and found a little piece of tranquility. The gite was clean, warm and comfortable and the views over the countryside were picturesque. There were a few days of late sunshine, so we sat outside and took in the garden - a little piece of paradise with climbing roses and lavender.
There are many local walks nearby, and we visited the local town of La Chatre, which had some good eating places (especially pizza) and historic buildings and churches.
Would highly recommend this place - Tim and Juliet were very welcoming and informative, so am looking to book again soon!
