“A really convenient place to stay”

We found Citea Tours really easily, we were impressed with the staff they were very friendly and spoke english very well. The parking is underground and secure, absolutely worth 10 euros a day. We bought breakfast for 7.50 euros and it was a good spread of bread, cereal, juice, preserves etc. It is in a great location to the city, everything is within walking distance, the train station is about 500 metres down the road.

The rooms are modern, clean and have an excellent kitchenette for making meals (it even has a cooktop!). I was very grateful for the fridge and kettle so I could make a cup of tea :) All in all I was very happy, I love Tours it is a beautiful city and I will return.

Room Tip: We were given a room on the street but the windows were double glazed so it was very quiet and we ha...

if you are looking for a simple and modern place to stay with the kitchennette this place is acceptable.
there is nothing special about this appart hotel but it is not far away from the different touristic places of the area,
the room is nto very large, same goes for the kitchennete but it contains all the basic elements you may need. this is very usefull if you want to prepare your breakfast (hotal one is actually in one of the close by hotels).
No hair dryer in the room but you can ask for one in the reception (when open).

Room Tip: be sure you arrive within the reception opening hours, bc otherwise the hotel doors are closed, brea...

We were a family group who required five rooms. The manager was most accommodating and placed us all together. The rooms were basic, but very comfortable for a short stay of three nights and it was useful to have the cooking facilities as we had several young children with us. The hotel is a short walk from the railway station and around 15-20 mins walk from the centre of the town. There was nearly no external noise from the trains as they passed the hotel, as it is well sound insulated. Although reception is closed at times, the staff were most helpful and obliging. We had a very good breakfast each morning at the Ibis opposite, by arrangement with the hotel. This was one of the best value hotels we stayed in during our travels in Europe

The city center and old Tours are quite a distance to walk from this hotel. The hotel is about six blocks from the railroad but the opposite direction from the city center and old town. We didn't want to go by taxi, so walked all the time, It worked out okay, but at night would have liked it to have been a bit closer to the center and where the restaurants were. So, we walked about six blocks from the hotel to the railway station (there are restaurants on this main road as well), about six blocks to a few cafes and shops, then another mile or more to the old city. Lots of good exercise! It was hot at the time, too.

The hotel is on a long strip of hotels and this one seems to be the last in the line. From the outside, these hotels do not look like much, and the surroundings are okay, but nothing to speak of. There are some plantings and trees, etc., but some flower boxes would have made it feel less like a business district. It felt pretty safe even at night, but would have felt just a bit more secure at night if this hotel hadn't been down so far from the busier part of town.

Inside our room, it was very nice. Great TV, shower room, small kitchen and french doors that overlooks the railroad and town and has nice landscaping underneath the windows. The bed was comfortable, and the AC worked well. It would have been noisy without it, with the railroad right outside our window. A room on the street side may have been better?

There is no receptionist at night. Be sure to find out when there is one during the day so you know when to check in. I think there was no one from noon until around 2:00.

My daughter and I traveled together and enjoyed Tours alot. We did a tour of a couple of chateaux with a van tour (you can schedule these right in town about two blocks from the station at the information center), and that was great. We walked all around the town and enjoyed shopping and touring the cathedral. The restaurants in old town were great and lots of fun to people watch. Also enjoyed the creperie right next to the cathedral.

The strip of hotels and apartments that line this street give pelenty of options for accommodation and this one ticks the boxes. Very simple apartment though a great size for the price, clean, new fitout and in a central location. On the local train line so a little noisy but the trains disappear overnight, For a simple overnighter or a few nights in the region on a budget - Citea wont disappoint for the price.

Room Tip: The single studio is big enough for 2 no problems!

We stayed a week at Citéa Tours in September 2010. We chose to stay there instead of a "regular hotel" because we where travelling with our 4-months old and prefered eating diner in the room to fit his schedule.

Location
Citéa is located just south of the congress center, a few minutes walk from the main shopping and restaurant sector. Like the Mercure and Etap hotels close-by, some of the rooms have a view of the busy train tracks, the Tours central station being a minute away.

Finding the place is not an easy task. Coming from the north, it is on the right side of Edouard Vaillant, just past the Holiday Inn, Etap and Mercure. There is no drop-off zone in front of the hotel. They only have 20 parking places in the underground parking, so you need to reserve one as soon as possible if you wish to use one. We were able to get a place for two nights of the seven, but chose to not use it on the second night because of the exit of the parking, which was too tight for our mid-size car. On other nights, we parked on the nearby streets, having to park a few streets away at most.

If you wish to eat in, there is a supermarket about 5 minutes away on the same street.

Room
We rented a one bedroom apartment, which was a tight fit for the three of us, but would have been just right for a couple. There were two televisions in the apartment - one in the room and one in the kitchen/living room. Internet (cable only) is included. They advertise that there is Wifi in the lobby but we did not use it. The room was clean. The air conditioning was adequate at best - the room was stuffy the first night as it had been hot during the day.

With the train tracks just under our window, it was quite noisy from 6 am to midnight when the windows were open.

The kitchen offers a mini-fridge, a microwave / convection oven, two cooking elements and a coffee maker. The kitchen amenities were tired, especially the pan and cooking ustensils. There is little ventilation around the cooking area. It is adequate to prepare breakfast but not very efficient for anything else a bit elaborate.

We stayed in the citea appartments for 4 nights. They are a short walk from the centre. We hired bikes to cycle along the Loire river and the appartment was big enough to put them in the lobby area for safe keeping at night. They are close to the station and the trains can be noisy in the morning if the bedroom window is open
