Owner description: The owners of Loire Valley Time Travel are originally from Australia, and toured the world before settling in France and deciding to share their love of the Loire Valley with visitors. On all of our tours Simon drives the classic cars, while Susan shares her wealth of knowledge about the Loire's history, way of life and natural environment. We provide custom private tours of the Loire Valley, traveling in our classic French 1953 Citroen Traction Avant, and we try to make a day with us like having a day out with friends. We visit the grand chateau you have always dreamed of seeing, stopping along the way at small overlooked sites that can range from WW2 memorials to ancient ruins and troglodyte caves.

This was quite simply the most fantastic two days in the Loire Valley. Susan and Simon picked us up from La Maison Jules - more about this lovely place later, and gave us two days of driving around the Loire valley in their gorgeous 1935 Citroen. They took us to the big sights, Chenonceau, Loches, Azay le Rideau and Villandrey, but also to little places we would never have known about without them, such as this little village covered in roses, just unbelievably beautiful. Not to mention finishing each day at a local winery to taste wines we had not experienced before. All along the way, Susan gave us the benefit of her extensive knowledge of history, the preservation of historic sites, natural history and much much more. Together they gave us two days filled with not only all that I have listed, but also fun and friendship. We felt as though we had known them for years! T,hank you so much to both of you, we loved every minute!

I concur with all the positive comments of previous reviewers. Susan and Simon provide a wonderful day tour of key sites in the Loire Valley. Susan is a very special guide. She combines an in-depth knowledge of the places that we visited with a story-teller's gift to make history come alive. The classic Citroen that we toured around in is a really cool car. I highly recommend this tour.

My wife and I did a day trip from Paris in April. Susan was prompt to reply and very accommodating to our schedule. The instructions on how to purchase train tickets and arrive for the tour couldn't have been better. We had a great time visiting 3 Chateaus, a great lunch and a great explanation of the history of the area. We loved being in the vintage Citroen. This personalized tour was definitely the way to experience the beautiful Loire Valley!

We spent two days touring the Loire Valley with Susan and Simon - husband and wife team. Simon did the driving of Celestine, a classic Citroen limo. Susan really knows her stuff. She gave us thorough and excellent tours of chateaus, wineries and the countryside. They even stopped so that we could view a prehistoric site in the middle of a field. The pace was leisurely, yet we did so very much at each of the sites. They are both such interesting people, and our conversations were far-ranging - on the road and in the restaurants they chose. This is truly a first-class experience, one which we shall never forget.

If you are after the personalised touch this is definitely the tour for you - worth every penny and then some. Simon and Susan are the perfect guides not only for imparting all their knowledge of the area but very open in sharing their personal life and what it is like to be living in a countryside village in France which added so much depth to the tour.
It is so cool to be driven in a vintage car rather than the usual minivan. Lunch was incredible, one of the best meals we had in France and walking through the markets and getting to sample the wares was so much fun also.
Really enjoyed our train trip to and from Tours and the instructions for booking Susan has made very easy to follow.
We loved Loches and Chenonceau and because we were running early Simon added a detour of Tours which was fascinating also.
Just can't rate this whole experience high enough. You won't be disappointed.
