All I can say is "wow, what an unexpected surprise"! This restaurant was recommended by our B&B host and she told us this was her favorite in Tours. She was absolutely spot on. The restaurant is small but the tables are positioned so that everyone has plenty of room and can have a conversation without interfering with others. It is run by a family and the chef actually comes to the table for your order. The service was outstanding and nothing was rushed. We ordered the chef's suggestion which consisted of 4 courses included foie gras and sea bass. The food was spectacular and the foie gras was some of the best I have ever eaten.
Dinner was so good we went back our last night in Tours and this time we were hoping for some fresh chanterelles which he happened to have available and he prepared a dish of scallops served over the mushrooms. My mouth is still watering... We were joined at dinner by a couple from Switzerland who had some food restrictions and the chef was absolutely accommodating as he prepared special dishes just for them. The prices were very inexpensive and the wine list, although not extensive, was adequate and the wine was very reasonably priced. This place was a winner!! Le Saint Honore turned out to be one of our two favorite restaurants during our France trip.
