“Good value inside but let down by its exterior.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2013

Situated outside the town centre, this relatively quiet location is convenient for a stopover. There is a good selection of restaurants nearby, and a supermarket and shopping area opposite. The hotel was advertised as having a 24-hour reception, which I imagine as a person behind a desk who, amongst other things, keeps an eye on exterior security cameras. Yes, you can get in here at any time, but only by using the check-in machine outside. This is not unusual in hotels of this type, but I don’t call that 24-hour reception; and there are no cameras. Outside the hotel is architecturally unappealing and is very run-down and unkempt. The car park abounds with cigarette butts and the exterior paintwork is very poor. Inside much of the hotel is in good condition, though there is a nasty smell in the downstairs bedroom corridor. The bedroom and shower/toilet room are small but quite adequate. The TV is large and has a very good selection of channels. The free WIFI is rather slow, and has an unnecessarily cumbersome interface, but works OK. Everything in our room worked too, except one light. Unusually in this class, there is the option of twin beds. These are comfortable but too narrow. The continental breakfast is available in a conveniently long time slot. The food selection is good, with the exception of a poor choice of cereals. The butter was too cold to spread, but this always seems to be the case these days. Overall, the hotel is well-situated, very good value for money, and just needs some tidying up to make it more inviting. We would stay here again, but we might need to bring a paintbrush.

This is a budget hotel and the rooms are small but clean. It is on a main road so it is easy to find and it is also near some decent restaurants. The staff was wonderful. We ran into a problem with the gas station across the street not being attended until later in the morning and we had to leave early. One of the employees went out of his way to assist us which was gratefully appreciated.

Arrived early for check in, room was available. Upstairs easy access. Very quiet room. No air conditioning. Very small bathroom, so was the shower. Lots of carparking staff were very helpful, wifi free was available throughout but was spasmodic and we had to get new password each day. Room was cosy but it was only a bed a night needed.
Very close to food outlets both fast food and restaurants.
To get to city center was about 10-15min drive depending on road works.
Not that expensive so a bed for the night ideal.

Budget hotel chains serve a purpose, and my purposes were served, so I can't complain.
Actually I can.
The room was that small the bathroom door would hit one of the beds and wouldn't open fully.
And there was a strange stain on the carpet.
Clean it guys...

2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2011

As I saw the reviews I hoped for something a bit better in shape than what expects of these low cost chains. But I was disappointed. Not because of the cold interior, the industrial/commercial neighborhood, the poorly equipped breakfast with rather disgusting hot beverages and orange juice. All things I expected and accepted. But because of the bad smell in the room (at least it has a "normal bed", no bunk beds), the dirty looking carpets, the need for renovation of our room (e.g. the walls and the shower) and the bad breakfast service (no refill of stuff). Especially after visiting the Loire castles (or coming from a marriage, as we did) you should opt for something nicer. Only good thing (due to the mentioned neighborhood): Not much noise on week-ends, even in a room to the street and open window.

Room Tip: If you are only two persons, ask for a room without third bunk bed on top.
