Feeling in need of a meal, we came off the motorway & reached Valencay.Parking in a square we found the restaurant of Le Lion d'Or Hotel tucked away across a cobble stone courtyard.
We were quite early and the only customers but within an hour the restaurant was packed
with locals and we could understand why.The menu was 17 euros and we chose avocado
on lettuce decorated with tomatoes, then Sandre (fish) with new potatoes, choc. nut glace
with coffee. A glass of red wine 2 euros. There is a choice of menu and the waitress is not
young but no-one waited any length of time for their meal. This is an ideal stopping off spot for fellow travellers to enjoy a tasty meal at a reasonable price.
