Went for dinner with friends based on a recommendation from our hotel. It was extraordinararily good. The food was delicious yet light - unusual pairings of hare and langoustine that went together beautifully - and amazingly good value. The wine list was not very long but a great selection of wines that didn't have the usual 200% markup.

It was a quiet night so we got a chance to chat with the chef. He had a Michelin star but gave it up a few years back to cook simpler food that's affordable. We definitely felt like that's what we got. Incredibly good meal and incredible value. I would go back to Epernay just to eat there again!

Our hotel recommended Le Theatre and booked a table - a reservation is essential for Friday & Saturday nights, as it is clearly very popular with locals. It occupies a spacious, high ceilinged room with around 15 well-spaced tables & the impression on entry is of a relatively formal, classy atmosphere. Over the evening, the service was very good as was the food, which was very well presented. It was my wife's birthday & the style of restaurant suited the occasion. It is certainly worth a visit if you are spending a few days in Epernay.

The menu seems inviting, the execution fails on all grounds from service to cooking. Cooking is actually quite a disaster. Asparagus seemed frozen, the fish was neither well cooked, neither tasty.
Most definitely a no return place.

We stupidly forgot to reserve anywhere for dinner on a Saturday night and this restaurant was about the only one that had space for 2, booked an hour before although by the time we got there it was fully booked. I was therefore a bit anxious but the restaurant itself was really nice - really, really tall ceilings, plenty of room between tables and quite modern with a red colour scheme and distinctive silhouettes of diners in black on the windows and mirrors. Service as has been mentioned before, was a bit slow and chaotic though not too bad but we did ask for our wine to be moved next to our table in an ice bucket rather than have to rely on a waiter for a refill! The food was good - a seafood veloute and the duck foie gras to start (both very good actually) and then we both had the turbot with orzo which was tasty but not terribly exciting. Good bottle of Pouilly Fuisse. Overall I was happy with the experience, certainly as it looked like we weren't going to be able to eat at all at some stage, and would go back, but there were other restaurants I would rather have eaten at if it had occurred to me to book in advance.....

The restaurant is spacious, the service good, the choice of food not to extensive, hence prepared and served well, the wine list is extensive.

The food is good, but not exciting.
