We had a couple of nights here and made the choice on a combination of the following factors, free parking, distance from town centre and previous choice hotel experience.
The directions to the hotel where poor but there was parking available when we arrived and found the correct building and the staff are pleasant, but from a British perspective these rooms are rubbish, the bed is almost at floor level and there is no bedside table/storage. The rooms are also in need of some basic maintenance and a refurbishment and some equipment in the kitchenette, there was not even a teaspoon.
If you need an overnight stop on the way somewhere I am sure this hotel would be fine, but it’s no good for a stay of a couple of nights or more.

Room Tip: Choose a different accommodation.

This is an army barracks converted into a Comfort Inn. It feels a bit like a college dorm. There are 2 large rectangular buildings and a third in the center belonging to some sort of governmental office. There is plenty of parking and open treeless grounds in the back - former parade grounds? The suites are large, furnished Ikea style with a table, chairs, couch (the tough American dorm room type), microwave and usable small refrigerator (ie. not stuffed with items for sale), sink and a full bathroom and the bed in a loft connected by a spiral staircase. Our big French double windows went up to the second floor and opened easily. This place is not cozy or charming, the internet did not work well, some people appeared to be living there while they worked nearby. It was fairly empty and quiet. Great place to book a busload of students. This is also the perfect place for someone traveling with dogs or children, who need the space, and kitchen facility.

Room Tip: It probably doesn't matter unless they expect a busload - better to be tucked far from that possibility.

The welcome by the reception was very friendly and in good English. The rooms are quite basic.
By the renovation they've made a choise of cheaper materials and white collors, because of this the rooms are looking quite cold and have no charm, it feels like armyrooms.
The breakfast was good with a big variety, only the breakfastroom looks like a cafeteria.
For us it didn't really matter, we didn't come to the champagne area to sit a whole day in the room.
We got a good price, got 3 nights, and only had to pay 2.
Location is +/- 2km out of the center, but we brought our bicycles, what took us no more than 10min.

I thought that that geography field trip feeling would never be experienced again but alas no. However one gets what one pays for and the quality price was OK. It is however not easy to find a family room when en route to the mountains so this was a welcome booking. Breakfast is better avoided since it seems a little expensive for he whole family so I saved my 8 Euro pro capite for the boulangerie.
Would I return? Yes if the budget is tight and the family room is required.

This hotel was a simple, clean and comfortable place to stay for the night. The decorations and furnishings were functional and plain. The bed was firm but comfortable (although I thought the pillows were a little lumpy and hard.) The room had wifi, television, refrigerator, microwave, and a stove-top. The bathroom was separated from the sleeping/living area; perfect for privacy and quiet. The staff were friendly. The buffet-style breakfast bar had a decent selection of food: ham, salami, cheeses, fresh bread, cereal, yogurt, milk, water, juice, coffee, marmalade, Nutella, etc. It wasn't gourmet, but it was fine.

All in all, for the price, this a fine place to stay if you need to crash for the night. If you want a romantic getaway, this isn't the place. We stayed in December, so we didn't need air-conditioning (I suppose if it were hot, you might need to be concerned.) It is a longish walk to town, so be prepared for a march.
