“Utterly charming!”
Reviewed 5 November 2013

My husband and I stayed in this wonderful B&B for 2 nights,as a treat while celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. Ivana and Jean-Marc were so welcoming, attentive and helpful! Our breakfasts were fabulous - great variety, wonderful presentation and delicious.Their establishment is a gem, beautiful gardens, french decor and attention given to every detail. We stayed in a very private unit, The Paradis, and we felt so pampered! We had a deck that overlooked the vineyard next door and it was such a lovely spot to sip on champagne. It was handy having the fridge to use in their summerhouse, too .Our only glitch was that we did not realize they lived in the village of Ay. We departed the train there , discovered there was not a taxi service so walked about 12 minutes to the B&B. This was our fault for not researching the area properly. When it came time to leave, our host kindly drove us to Epernay to get on the train.
.Next time we would take the train to Epernay and go by taxi, or rent a car for a tour around! Wonderful! It was a perfect spot being out in the countryside and away from any noise! We would definitely do it again, we had such a relaxing time and highly recommend the place.

Room Tip: For total privacy and luxury, stay in the Paradis. Spacious and special!

Excellent taste! Very good attention to details. Welcoming hostess and very good quality French style breakfast (excellent fresh squeezed orange juice and pastries). Good location for touring in Champagne area.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in August. We had originally booked for 2 nights but our car broke down so we needed to stay and extra couple of nights and loved it so much we decided to stay on. We were lucky enough to stay in 2 different rooms "Plenitude" and "Romance", both were equally luxurious and comfortable. Ivana is such a welcoming lady and her breakfasts are amazing, different wonderfully presented fruit every day with fresh bread ham cheese and pastries, washed down with freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee, wonderful! Breakfast is served in Ivana's lovely conservatory. There is a delightful little summer house in the garden with a fridge for guests to use, we used it every day to chill champagne which we drank in the garden before walking to one of the restaurants in the village, I totally totally recommend this b and b and this beautiful region of France (and I won't buy champagne from anywhere else in future!)

We stayed for three nights in the "Romance" room. We were greeted by lvana and her husband Jean. Ivana showed us to our room. Great place to stay while you explore the surrounding region.
About 5 minutes from Epernay by car. Only downside was that it was unseasonable hot while we where there and our room did not have A/C which made sleeping uncomfortable. Breakfast's were great, we had supper at the Grillade Gourmande which was outstanding, thanks Ivana for the recommendation. We would return.

Rooms are very nice and Ivana and Jean are very hospitable but don't speak english very well (as mentioned in other review basic English). It is located on a busy road and for less money we stayed in nicer b&b's in France. It is worth staying here if you don't mind street noise. We thought it to be a little overpriced.

We stayed for two nights in the "Romance" room. We were greeted by the lovely Ivana and her husband Jean. Ivana showed us to our room which i can say was immaculate, she really does have a great eye for detail, I would describe the decor as "sophistated luxury". We came with two bikes which we were able to store in the garage when not being used. Epernay is about a 5/10 minute drive away, however, we were so pleased that we stayed in Ay, this is a lovely pretty French village which you don't really see when driving through. Well worth exploring.
Breakfast was served in her beautiful conservatory which was of a very high standard. We travelled out to Hautvillers (very quaint village) and had a great Champagne tasting at Au36.This is a tasting house with a wide variety of champagnes, but are charge the same prices as the producers. Perfect to taste on their private terrace, with a gorgeous assiette of small plates.

Le Manoir was a delightful place to stay. The room was beautiful with a very comfortable bed, the breakfast served in an exquisite conservatory and the garden peaceful and green. It made an excellent stop over for us on our way south and east. I would probably not rush back to Epernay, but I cannot fault Le Manoir.
