We chose this campanile over the others in Reims because of its central position close to the cathedral. We have a large car and were pleased to find that it would fit in the secure underground parking. The hotel was a short walk from the restaurants, cathedral and shops and was next to the canal running through the centre of Reims. We will definitely return during our regular trips through France.

Good location near Cathedral. Very warm welcome. Convenient basement car park. Stayed in for dinner - limited menu but tasty enough - maybe a little pricey. Breakfast choices very good but 14 euros is expensive I think. All of the hotel was very clean and tidy. It's a good option for a stop-over.

Very basic But clean. The receptionist Arnaud was very helpful. He went out of his way to provide us with information. My husband is vegetarian. The only option for dinner omelette, a bit disappointing.

The reception was nice, Eric and his co-worker were friendly upon check in. There is limited parking in the street and no reception drive through so we parked at the garage entrance to the hotel while I ran in to check in. Although parking is offered, it did not state that it is limited and you would need to reserve a spot to park at the hotel or you are left to find something on the streets. There is no valet, ramp or lift to assist you with your bags up a flight of stairs entering the hotel reception. That was inconvenient after a long day of traveling we were exhausted.

The only thing we liked about staying here is the size of the room. We booked accommodations for 3 and received a room for 4. At first sight you are pleased with the neat tidy room, sleek furniture and size of the room. However, there are no drawers to unpack your things so you live out of a suitcase for your stay. The in room safe was inoperable. I shut the windows to close out the noise from the passing traffic on the main road. The room was stuffy so I turned on the air conditioner unit which blew warm air so I ended up opening the windows and listened to the passing street traffic throughout the night. The bathroom looked ok. One hook for your towel but no bar to dry them so you end up tossing them down for fresh towels the next day. No water conservation there. Another disappointment was the shower. The handle was broken so there was no cold water at all!!!!! Showering at 1am did not make it convenient to find out the controls were broken. Luckily the hot was not scalding at that moment. The next morning however was a different story. After a scalding shower we requested to change rooms. The new desk clerk was not too pleased with our request but accommodated us for which we thanked him repeatedly.
We came down for a breakfast buffet, not impressive. Lots of cold food offerings. The best thing was the Melita coffee dispenser which offered 8 different hot drink selections. By the time we were done with breakfast, our new room was cleaned and ready so we moved in. We we glad to see that the safe worked as it was already locked shut so we requested someone to open the safe which the front desk worker later came up to do for us. With no acknowledgement or greeting, he arrived, unlocked the safe and left.
In the afternoon, we returned to rest and ask for a restaurant recommendation which we were told to eat at a particular restaurant because it was cheap with good food (his words). Luckily, my husband looked it up only to find it was extremely expensive. Extremely disappointed with the front desk help is an understatement. I'm sure he was inconvenienced having to accommodate us in another room but the condition of that room was not our doing. BROKEN SHOWERS are UNACCEPTABLE! Yet, we didn't make a huge deal of it, we simply requested a room with a working shower. He was not very friendly or cordial after our move.
Luckily before we left for dinner, the staff changed over and Eric returned so we asked for another restaurant recommendation which we enjoyed. It was located down the street from the cathedral which is impressive to see in person and at night. By the way, Eric confirmed that the prior recommendation was the most expensive in the area to which we had no reply.
Our room was serviced late in the afternoon (after 4pm) on a regular basis which made it inconvenient to return and freshen up for the evening.
The beds are firm but comfortable. The pillows are soft so it's difficult to prop yourself up to watch tv. The refrigerator is not very cold so we could not make ice. Our drinks weren't cold, just cool.
Our account of our stay could be common in Reims or just at our hotel so ask the right questions if possible. If not google walk on the satellite map to see the facilities.
Also, bring your own wash cloths, none are provided.

Room Tip: If you don't mind lugging your bags up a flight of approximately 12 steps, to the reception area, I would ask for a room that faces away from the main road so you can have your windows open without the noise. Be aware that the back side of the building faces other tall residences so you may see into the neighbors windows. I would also ask for a room away from the stairwell especially on the first floor because you will hear people coming and going regularly. If you prefer the convenience of a drive up reception, I would look at the hotel directly across the street.
