“Great restaurant to end a beautiful day in Reims!”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

My girlfriend and I visited Reims in April 2014 and stayed in the Residhome Reims Centre hotel (which is an excellent value for money hotel for couples). Restaurant O41 is located at a few hundred meters from this hotel. You can just walk and do not need to use your car to get there.

On Saturday night we called the restaurant to make a reservation. I asked if they could offer my girlfriend a vegetarian meal which was no problem at all. There were no standard vegetarian dishes on the menu but the chef just started freestyling and prepared a fantastic dish for my girlfriend (with four different kinds of carots and risotto). I chose for the scallops (coquilles Saint-Jacques) with risotto. Both plates were delicious!!!

We ended with a dessert and were again suprised by the skills of the chef. He used the typical bisquits roses de Reims in a kind of crême brûlée recipe. Original and perfect flavours!

The cooking techniques and quality of the food were typical French and really high level which we didn't really expected at the beginning. Service was ok. Price? We paid 80 EUR for 2 main dishes, 2 desserts and a bottle of wine. We would recommend restaurant O41.

“Great French Restaurant”
Reviewed 20 March 2014 via mobile

We had dinner with 11 persons in this restaurant for a bithday. The room on the second floor was perfect for this occasion and was nicely decorated. The service was great and friendly. The dishes looked nice and the food was from good quality and very tasty. We had three different menus and all of them have been served hot and on same time.
We can recommend this restaurant!

“Great restaurant, good service, good value for money”
Reviewed 15 March 2014 via mobile

This restaurant was around the corner of our hotel. It services good priced menus and there is a great variety of wines. The hostess was very friendly. My favourites here were the fois gras and the pave boeuf. 3 courses for 2 persons including wine around €80,-

It is less than ten minutes from the main street and a bit out of the way, but this is a good sign in a restaurant as it means it can't rely on passing trade, so it has to rely on the quality of the food and word of mouth.
The decor is pleasant and the welcome and service were excellent.
The menus are good value, we had the and the food is freshly prepared, really nicely cooked and presented.
The choice is not wide , but as another reviewer has said, I would always have a more limited choice of excellent food rather than a wider menu of lesser quality.
26 euros is very good price. We spent more in the centre of town for a meal that was nowhere near as good.
I thought the area where it is located was fine

What a wonderful meal. We did not know quite what to expect, and this tiny restaurant—tucked away from the main street—was a bit of a hike from our hotel. We did not know, for example, that there are two prix fixe menus, 26 and 35 euros. We went for the 26ers and could not have been more fulfilled. Since I am certain the menu will have changed by now, I will not rehearse it. But it was delightful. A small caveat: we had noticed the most of the TA reviews were in French. That's because the proprietress speaks French, the menu is in French, etc. I was fortunate to be traveling with a French speaker who smoothed out all the potential rough spots in the evening. Those who get frustrated with linguistic disconnects should probably go elsewhere. However, even a smattering of French, along a reservation, and a sense of adventure will make for a memorable evening.
