Reviewed 4 September 2013

Supposed to be 4* Hotel, I disagree. Got a spacious room, removed but bath room kind of plastic kit, poor water evacuation, big stains on the carpet for an average price of 300 euros per night. Quite expensive.
Otherwise, staff is nice and helpful.

My wife and I spent a week in Dolce Vita in August 2013 for our first visit to Corsica. We were absolutely delighted with the hotel, its staff and the restaurant. The hotel is about 10 minutes drive outside of Ajaccio, which meant that we had peace and quiet and privacy on the small beach but easy access to the town for visits, shopping etc.

We booked the larger of the two types of room which meant that we were happy to spend a bit of time out of the sun, or to breakfast on our room terrace. The food in the restaurant La Mer was excellent and relatively good value (relative, that is, to the quite high prices for nearly everything in Corsica).

Most of the guests were French when we were there, but all the staff speak English and there was never any problem getting help or advice. If we ever go back to Ajaccio we will definitely go back to Dolce Vita.

Room Tip: If you are staying more than 2-3 days then I'd recommend going for the larger room. One other th...

We have spend a wonderful holidays at Corsica staying for a week at Dolce Vita. The hotel, the room, the location is amazing. The breathtaking views from the bath tube at the sea - sounds like a true luxury. But the artificial grass at the garden was a slight distaste. and for such and excessive price the breakfast should be included.

Stayed two nights on our fly-drive holiday. Were given an excellent deal (less than half price room rate). Luxurious room, more like a small suite, with terrace overlooking sea. Lots of storage space, ultra-modern bathroom. Menu of the day was very good on both nights with the facility of having one, two or three courses which suits us very well. Full buffet breakfast is expensive at 28 euros but we opted for the 'formule express' at 11 euros, which was equivalent to a traditional French breakfast: juice, croissants and coffee.
Beautifully placed on the Iles Sanguinaires road, but no traffic noise as all rooms face the sea. Lovely and helpful staff in all departments.

Stayed there for one night. As it is away from the city centre [which we liked], not sure about public bus/walking- but if you have a car distance is not an issue. Room was very clean and had a fantastic view. Absolutely beautiful and lovely breeze on the balcony. Can fall asleep listening to the sound of waves breaking on the shore if you leave the balcony door ajar. Bathroom was interesting with a huge glass 'window/wall' to the bedroom. Bed was large and comfortable. Although room is on the smaller side.
Restaurant served very good food although the choice was not extensive. Service at dinner was fair. The restaurant ambiance and decor was old style indoors but more modern on the terrace. Some mosquitoes on terrace- so be careful.
No wi-fi in room but the lady at reception was helpful and gave us a cable for the laptop.

This was second hotel stay for group of 4 girlfriends on weekend trip to Ajaccio. Note that it was some distance (not walking) to the city so you need a car, but several good along the roadway. Room was clean and somewhat (but not overly) spacious. Seaview rooms have spectacular view. Hotel staff friendly and accommodating, restaurant too expensive and mostly empty while we were there except one night there was a tour group.

Room Tip: Pick seaview room, it would be the only reason to stay there. Lower floor had all tile flooring, se...

We booked a superior sea view room. The room was huge with some great features, such as bathroom.

On the downside, the beds were two singles ones merged together, there is no alcohol in the minibar and free wifi is only available in the lobby with only a RJ45 cable in the rooms.
