We arrived in announced and the hotel complex was closing next day, but hey took us in, no catering provided, but I would imagine it would be good in season as the facilities where either new or in good condition. There is a great pool but also the ocean at your rooms door. The room was large and fully fitted and the noise of the sea was calming at night. We loved it and would go back in season.

We didn' t really like the room but they were reasonably priced. But what struck us was the breakfast . It was the best in corse until now. Rooms are simple , a little boring. Great room for shower however.
Mediocre but for a reasonable price

Room Tip: Tru to get 2012-214 , you will see some sea

We were very disappointed with this hotel. It claims to be a star establishment, but barely merits two stars. We had a very basic room in an unattractive concrete annex. When we booked on-line it was not clear that the layout is rather motel-like. We had a balcony overlooking the seashore, an adequate bathroom, hard bed and pillows, but in fairness, all clean. Because of the situation of the room we had to walk about 100 yards in the rain to reach the restaurant building, repeated the morning after for breakfast.
We were booked in half-board but the meal offered was poor -- the worst of our stay in Corsica, and no choice; the main course was dried-up cod with a crust of gingerbread! We had intended to stay for three nights, but left after one.

Room Tip: Bear in mind all rooms are in annex.

The thing about Ajaccio is that there are almost no big chain luxury hotels (e.g. no Starwood hotels such as a Sheraton, Weston, etc.) in or near the city; all the hotels are quirky, local and unique. So when you go, you have to adjust your expectations. What is great about the Stella di Mare is that it is right by the ocean, on the Route des Sanguinaires, which is only a very short bus ride (10 min on the line 5) into the heart of Ajaccio. Unfortunately the bus runs only once every half-hour, and stops running after 9 p.m.

Both the rooms that have a terrace, and those that have a sea view, have a "sea view". You're right there. The sea is about 25 feet away. There is also access to a very small "beach" - in quotation marks because it barely qualifies as a beach. The rooms are nothing special. The TV isn't very big, nor is the bed. The shower in the bathroom isn't great, but there is plenty of hot water and good water pressure. It is not romantic or sexy or luxurious. Which might explain why the hotel seems to be popular with families on a budget and retirees. But you also find honeymooners because of the location and affordability. The staff was friendly and helpful. Be aware that check-out time is early (like 10:30 a.m. if I remember correctly).

It has a large restaurant and bar, both of which are good (not great, but by no means bad). Of course you can find better food in the city (or down the road, at Crique), but it is so nice to have a restaurant at the hotel too, as an option. They serve a buffet-style breakfast every morning (also by the ocean) from 7:30-9:30 (if you sleep in you'll miss it!). The buffet consists of croissants, bread, yogurt, cheese, meat, coffee and juice. It's a bit over-priced and under-whelming, but that's what you expect when you eat breakfast at any hotel.

All in all, we had a very good 2-night stay. We'd definitely stay here again because the price and the view are just right!

the room was very dusty. the location was outside of ajaccio, which is fine if you have a car - also the terrace has an amazing view.
the ladies at the hotel don't really know much about the area, which made it a bit difficult, but they are friendly.

We stayed here for 2 nights. We booked a double room with sea view (which was worthy). We can see the sea once we enter the room. The room itself is alright, nothing special, but the view was great! We had dinner at the hotel restaurant once which was usual hotel food. You can find better food in city centre. The hotel has its own beach. This hotel is 7kms from city centre. May sure you visit Ile Sanguinaires if you stay in this hotel. The walk up the tower at Ile Sanguinaires was great. If you want to avoid staying at the busy city and want to have a beach right next to your room, this is the hotel.
