My wife and I arrived for an overnight stay after golfing and on our way back from Switzerland to the UK. The locality was wonderfully rural, very old farmhouse, wonderful and relaxing gardens. We were warmly greeted by our host who was most welcoming. He showed us to a charming and comfortable room and then organised dinner for us at a local restaurant which in itself was a great experience. A good nights sleep was awakened by the braying of two local donkeys and followed by an appetising continental breakfast. We would recommend anyone to stay in the peace and tranquillity of this village. Unfortunately we had to continue our journey but would love to come back.

Spent a night there on our way to the south of France. Place somewhat off the beaten track (nomen est omen as le détour literally means going out of your way) but still conveniently situated if you don't want to stick to the motorway. Fortunately, there is a restaurant nearby so you don't need to get into your car if you want a meal. Rooms clean and adequately furnished but our bed was not too comfortable. A little on the expensive side for the facilities offered. Friendly host and very good breakfast (charged extra) for French standards.

A delightful place to stay in a lovely little village.
The room was absolutely spotless with everything that was needed.
Breakfast in the morning was very nice with fresh fruit salad alongside alongside the normal continental style including various cheeses.

Sadly we only had one night at Le Detour, en route between Burgundy and Alsace. It would have been lovely to have had a little longer to explore a beautiful region that we don't know at all.

The countryside within which Le Detour is located is gorgeous, and the B&B itself has great views out over the surrounding scenery. Joel is a fantastic host, and much of the delicious breakfast is homemade.

After the bustle of some of the larger towns and cities we'd visited, the small village of Buffard was wonderfully relaxing - and our room was perfectly quiet at night, ensuring a great sleep.

If you're travelling this way, Le Detour is a superb choice for rest, relaxation and beautiful scenery.
