We loved this hotel. The welcome was warm. Our bedroom was large and full of character. The Toile de Jouy on the walls is so different to anywhere we have been before. It makes such a change from bland, new hotels.
Across the road is the beautiful Chateau where we spent most of the morning. The gardens were lovely to roam about in. Although there is a charge to go round the interior, the gardens are free which meant that we were able to see more of them the next day too. We will definitely go back if we are in that area again.

We were lucky to be upgraded to a suite for our first night, and altho we had to move for our second, we didn't mind. Both rooms were lovely, tho' the second night the ventilation in the room was very noisy, so light sleepers beware (my husband didn't notice).
Hotel is quiet, clean and comfortable. It doesn't have a restaurant (though you can take your own chef! As a presumably important guest did whilst we were there). Location is lovely, set back from the main road enough to limit noise. There is no bar either, but an honesty system operates from an open bar near the lobby. There was no alcohol in the rooms so if you want a beer in the jacuzzi bath, you need to take one up from the bar area. Staff are polite and attentive and helpful.
We liked it, and would go back. The last time we stayed at the Ibis, and whilst this is twice the price, it definitely provides twice the relaxation factor, due to the elegant surroundings.

This was the first hotel of our France holiday, and we couldn't have asked for a better start. The room was beautiful and the view of the palace accross the street was spectacular. We were delighted by the distinct french feel of Aigle Noir and the friendly service. Fontainebleau was a pretty place and will definitely come back

We stayed here on business trip and expected little as it was billed as a three star hotel. But it was absolutley charming. Gorgeous, pretty little court yard, garden entrance, old world manners and service from very helpful staff, ( we checked in very late), and massive rooms for the price, (albeit reached down a corridor with a rather alarming list to the left as though the hotel were subsiding!)
It's so near the palace and lots of lovely little shops and bistros, so would be great if you're here for pleasure as well as business. Only downside if you're travelling by car is there is no parking and that part of town has very narrow streets. My room had a fab tv concealed in the mirror and a truly huge bathroom. Very groovy. Maybe we were getting a deal but it seemed amazing value. Would highly recommend. Wish we could have stayed more than one night.

This is a lovely quirky hotel just outside the gates of the palace so the loaction was great. The walls of the entire hotel are covered in wonderful fabrics which make it a bit different. The bar area is particularly nice. Breakfast was good, but not fantastic. The bedroom was lovely and the bathroom had been redone and was nice. The toilet was seperate, and was fine but the newly decorated bathroom meant that the tiling in the toilet looked a little tired.

The 'honesty bar' in the lobby is a nice idea. The bar had a lovely open fire and comfortable couches where we spent a very pleasent evening reading and sipping wine - very relaxing.

We would definitly stay here again.
