All what you can expect of a family sized hotel: efficient and friendly staff, charming decoration, comfortable bed. Breakfast is also excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel except for people with a mobility problem: there is no lift in this beautiful old house.

Room Tip: Ask for a superior room. It's worth it!

My two teens & I stayed here for one night and absolutely loved this hotel. We had the most amazing room. It was at the end of the upstairs corridor and you entered through a lovely set of wooden double doors with tapestry inlays. Once inside there was a small reception area with a large old carved wooden wardrobe then you turned left and walked down this really long corridor to the actual room which was huge. It had two large Queen size beds, an old open fire place with marble surround & mantle and gorgeous ornate antique furniture. Back down the corridor was the bathroom which again was very large and beautifully decorated. Everything was spotlessly clean and quite frankly we felt like royalty for the night in our own little mini palace. Breakfast was very good and served in the lovely restaurant downstairs. I can't say enough about the staff. Unfortunately I didn't get his name but the gentleman on reception helped us enormously. The previous night we had suffered a flat tyre so he rang the local tyre garage for us and arranged to have it fixed straight away thus saving us valuable sight seeing time. The hotel is perfectly situated directly across the road from the Palace and a very short stroll down the road are many restaurants and the wonderfully quaint shopping streets of Fontainebleau. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough, it is an absolute gem.

Room Tip: Don't bother parking in the hotels car park as it is very small and quite expensive, there is a very large car park right next door which is cheaper.

Stayed overnight (2 adults, 2 kids aged 13 and 10) in a room with 2 double beds, spacious and beautifully furnished with a modern bathroom. The location is unbeatable opposite the Chateau and we had a lovely view from our room. We were able to park our car in a car space on the street, so no need for off street parking. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, opting for a nearby cafe instead - there are lots of options available. As a suggestion, coffee making facilities in the room would be a welcome addition. However, this hotel is beautifully presented and oozes character, with staff being very pleasant. Overall we had a wonderful stay and would stay again anytime.

My wife and I recently spent two nights at this very pleasant location. Upon arrival we elected to park our vehicle in the small hotel car park (9 Euros per night) adjacent to the premises. It was a little tight although secure. There is a larger, public car park adjacent to the hotel which appeared reasonable in terms of charges, and certainly cheaper than the hotel. Our reception was very welcoming and we had reserved the Romantic Room (N0- 2) which was on the first floor and which had a stunning view across the road to the Chateau. The room was very large, as was the bathroom. Good supply of hot water and very good shower. The only issue we really had was that we were unable to fully draw the curtains and had to utilise 'clips' to ensure privacy. Breakfast (14 Euros per person) was taken in the very atmospheric morning room with views again across to the Chateau. Very good selection of cereals, fruits and fresh croissants etc. The room is adjacent to a very nice guest lounge where newspapers and magazines are provided. Service we felt was very good throughout our stay, efficient yet unobtrusive. This very good service was not present when we visited the small tourist office adjacent to the hotel. The young girl who was there seemed to view the presence of my wife and I as something of an inconvenience. In terms of assistance, she provided none!
We would fully recommend this hotel for a stay in what is a lovely town, with the tremendous centrepiece that is the Chateau. Good places to eat within very easy walking distance of the hotel.

This is a charming hotel located directly opposite the chateau. Each room is tastefully decorated with antique prints or paintings.Fresh flowers, fruit and a selection of international newspapers add to the ambience in the public areas. The owner is pleasant, most helpful yet unobtrusive.
