A recommendation from a waiter in a favorite other 16th arr. restaurant (le Petit Pergolese) plus good Trip Advisor reviews prompted a meal in Jamin.
Service was very good and welcoming, ambience OK except for too many loud fellow Americans, but food was mediocre with no flair or interesting tastes. It seemed like meals were prepared by a chef who knew recipes but didn't have imagination or a refined palate.
I'm told Paris has become a city of restaurants like this. Finding the good ones has become difficult and reviews did not help us in this case. Four of us ate at Jamin and this review is a unanimous one, not the product of one diner who had a bad night.
