We were wandering in the Marais district in Paris, actually looking for another restaurant, but it was closed on Monday night. Our criteria, for dinner, was to be small and interesting with contemporary French food. It was 7pm July 28th and we chanced upon Le Colimacon. It looked picture perfect. We had no booking, but we were able to sit upstairs by the open window. Our table was only available till 9.30pm. Perfect, we were seated and ordered organic, interesting French food. The service was friendly, knowledgable and passionate. Highly recommend this delightful restaurant for those looking for ambience, good quality food and welcoming service

We happened upon this restaurant one night on our honeymoon in Paris. We hadn't made reservations anywhere, but since it was on the earlier side, we decided to just venture out and find a nice place. Le Colimacon was about a 10 minute walk from our hotel in Le Marais. The waiter, Matthieu, greeted us upon arrival and found us a lovely table for 2 by the window. We tried to speak to him in our limited French, but he was kind enough to switch over to English for us. He pointed out the menu, on the wall, and told us that it changes frequently depending on what is in season. My husband ordered a glass of red wine, and I ordered a glass of champagne. Both were excellent. We shared an appetizer of burratta cheese and tomato. The cheese was excellent -- melt in your mouth delicious! My husband had beef tartare for his meal. It was delicious, tender and seasoned perfectly. I had a salad with fresh, grilled lobster on it. It was fresh, and so delicious. We skipped dessert. Matthieu was attentive and caring throughout the meal. He went the extra mile to ensure that our experience was great. After dinner, he spent some time talking to us about our travels. We mentioned we were headed to Spain, and could speak Spanish. He spent some time chatting in Spanish with us, and gave us two complimentary shots of Spanish liquor. It was a great meal and we would love to go back (and see Matthieu) when we are in Paris again. (The value was appropriate as well. Not cheap, but well-priced for what it was. To be fair, we are New Yorkers, and are used to higher dinner prices).

We had tried to reserve a spot at this restaurant 3 years ago and it was always fully booked. Tonight we took a chance and stopped by at 7:45 and got a table. The meal was absolutely top notch; one of the best if not the best restaurant on this summer trip to Paris. I had a lamb dish with fresh seasonal vegetables and a light sauce; my husband had a whole deboned sea bass artfully arranged with a wonderful ratatouille. We each started with soup- a cold melon soup with dried beef and a gazpacho; both were divine. The waiter suggested a Cotes de Provence rose which was excellent as well and we finished with a wonderful strawberry soup (it was a hot day in Paris:))
Superb and friendly service with help on the menu in English and a lovely small restaurant ambiance in the Marais. Overall a great experience for our last night here!

My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant in the Marais during our honeymoon. Without a reservation, they seated us in this beautiful table on the second floor with Juliet balcony. The rabbit, to this date, is the best I ever had. So good, that last night I had a dream where I was trying to remember the name of this place and was searching all around Paris. So...if you want to have a restaurant experience that you might dream about three years later, go here!

A simple setting; picturesque and quaint and an absolute haven in the midst if otherwise off-ish waiters and restaurant owners. The staff at Le Colimacon are pleasant, proud of their work and offerings and are quite happy to converse in broken English while you speak far more broken french. Their focus is on organic and locally sourced seasonal fare and their wine list is well suited to their menu. As they are quite popular, bookings are ideal to ensure you are not left without, we will happily return.
