“Bistro in tourist area..”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

We decided to have a lunch in this area, tried to avoid of tourist traps, but must say that the value we got was lower than we expected especially because of the weak main course. Nice terrace just infront of church of Saint Severin. Playing jazz from speakers, quite good service. Onion soup, snails, desert ok. Boeuf Bourginon very weak. (2 lunch menus + 0,46cl wine = 50 €).

“Great For People Watching”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

The location is on St. Michel Bvd, right next to Le Depart (another restaurant/cafe, and close to the Seine so it is tourist-laden) but that is a good reason to go here. I didn't expect good food because it is a tourist spot. I ordered a mixt planchet which was a variety of cheeses, charcuterie, tiny salad, cornichion, and bread. It was very good. There was a nice mixture. I enjoyed eating it with a glass of wine and a carafe d'eau and watching all the people. I like to do this at least once while in Paris and watch humanity float by.

“Quite average place”
Reviewed 4 May 2014 via mobile

Nothing special. Average food. You know, the same salad you could have in Minsk at cheaper price, really)) And vegetables in it were not fresh. The serive is indifferent & not good. We expected much more when saw this restaurant from the street. But... One more advice: dont listen to the waiter about small portion in course menu. They are quite enough for 1 person and the price is ok.

“Average”
Reviewed 16 April 2014 via mobile

Typical brasserie food in the Saint Germain area. Soup, salad, wine. Boeuf bourgogne was surprisingly bland. So nothing spectacular but ok value if you're looking for a quick meal with the kids.

“Worst onion soup in Paris”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

This is one of the many restaurants crowded onto the rabbit warren of streets around the church of San Severin, between Blvd San Michel and Blvd St. Jacques, in the Latin Quarter. Most of these streets are so narrow they are pedestrian only. Lots of tourists visit this colorful section of old Paris. And most of the restaurants are for tourists, with low fixed price menus touted and very little care given to the food since they never expect to see you again. Before forums like Tripadvisor existed, each day brought fresh, ignorant tourist pigeons to be exploited. Now, of course, word gets around.

This is one of the restaurants to avoid, in my opinion. I base that on a lunch that was less than mediocre. Actually, I can live with mediocre. Part of the meal was just plain bad, and it was the soup. Onion soup is not hard to make in an acceptable way. I've done it. The onion soup at this place was mind bogglingly bad. The broth tasted like someone had opened cans of chicken gravy and thinned it with heaven knows what. The texture, the taste, the appearance--- just weird and unpalatable. They should be ashamed to serve it. Heaping on cheese does not make up for such a cynically concocted soup.
The waiter knew it was bad, I am convinced. When he came to pick up the uneaten bowl he managed not to connect eyes, and he said not a word, as if he whisks away full bowls all the time.
Is giving them a 1 too harsh? You decide. If they can't do even an average onion soup (forget memorable or to die for) what are the odds they will give their other food any kind of attention? To me it is a red flag labelled Avoid.
