Geraldine was friendly and very accommodating to our needs. She gave us an overview of the cultural neighborhood and helped us with a map of the sights to see in Paris. The apartment was inviting and certainly fit our needs.
There was some street noise but it did not keep us awake at night. The apartment is located several blocks from the metro so it was easy to use public transportation. We enjoyed dining at the café restaurant, Les Routiers, which was a suggestion by Geraldine. Wonderful French food, very friendly staff, and within walking distance of the apartment.
Geraldine is so very kind and friendly, and we really enjoyed our stay in this bustling neighbourhood. Make sure you go to Marche l'Olive it was so delicious, the Boucherie Riquet Viande in Rue Riquet next to au Roi du Cafe does the most incredible rotisserie chicken and potatoes with green olives, we will never forget the flavour, and Boulangerie Mogador has the perfect flavour tarte au Citron to make your to tongue curl (not too sweet). The family restaurant Géraldine recommended is so worth a visit and the servings really are huge, order fois gras and a salad and see if you can still walk!
Fab time, easy to access from Gare Du Nord station. Would recommend to a friend. Great music collection aswell
We really enjoyed our 10 day stay in Geraldine's lovely, compact and well
laid out apartment. It has all the facilities described in the listing.
Its located in a lively, bustling and diverse area of of the city so
gave us a glimpse of what its like to live in Paris away from main
tourist sites. The double glazed windows cut out most of the city noise.
Geraldine is an excellent really friendly host and was easily available
by phone and through Trip Advisor messaging if we needed to ask
anything. She arranged for her mother, who was really helpful, to meet
us at the apartment as she was slightly delayed at work but came round
to visit us and show us round the facilities later the same evening.
With the apartment being only a few hundred yards from Marx Dormoy metro
station and closer for buses there's no problem getting around the city
using the excellent frequent transport links. Food shopping is no
problem with the area being well supplied with local shops,
boulangeries, patiseries, supermarkets and the excellent Marche D'Olives
which is worth a visit or two.Geraldine lives in the apartment when its
not being rented out so its really well looked after and if you have
time (which we didn't) you can further immerse yourself in French
culture with her comprehensive collection of books, DVDs and CDs.
