“An excellent Montmatre hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 April 2012

We spent our 40th wedding anniversary here and were delighted. Very helpful staff, comfortable clean rooms (with an ace shower in our case) and brilliantly located.

Hotel des Arts is located on cite Bergere, a passage or alley that lacks charm and is not inviting in itself. But the upside is that there is no through auto traffic and the street is very quiet a night. The hotel itself is a nice and typical 2** hotel. The rooms are clean and the windows double glazed, which offers good exterior sound deadening. The elevator is small but fits two people and one suitcase. You'd use it with a friend. The staff is very helpful. There is a decent sized BF room and prices were comparable to a similar meal at a nearby cafe. The location is very good. You are right off the Blvd Poissoniere and close to a metro stop. There are convenient buses that go over the Notre Dame and Luxembourg and other Left Bank locations. The only downside we encountered was thin walls separating the rooms. We could hear conversation, enough to be distracting. This was on the 4th floor. We have stayed here before and will again, probably asking for a room abutting the adjoining building which limits the potential of neighbor noise. Our price was 98 euros per night except for one night that was somewhat less. We stayed a week. We booked online but not directly though the hotel site. No deposit required with booking.com

Stayed in mid-May with my boyfriend for three nights. Room was smallish, but fine for us and it's to be expected in Paris. Especially enjoyed the proximity to various metro stations, funky restaurants catering to many locals and the attentive service.

One day we woke up a bit late and came down for breakfast just as they were closing up the breakfast room. They had run out of baguette and croissant, so we said we didn't mind going elsewhere for breakfast, but they insisted we stay and went to a neighboring hotel to get us some fresh bread and pastries. It was a nice touch, though totally not necessary since we were the ones who were late!

As well, very much enjoyed listening to Babar, their pet paraqueet ;-)

An affordable and clean room is really all that we were looking for, and this hotel fits that description!

Originally, we were booked to stay at the Hotel Corona Opera, which is just right across the street. It was a good hotel with a friendly staff, but the price was way too expensive: 189 euros including breakfast a night. We looked for a more budget-friendly alternative, and found Hotel Des Arts, right across the street.

98 euros is a decent price, considering that the room was much more spacious than the one in Hotel Corona Opera and just as clean. At two stars, it really just means that it's a bit less fancy in decor, but we could care less. In terms of what you get for what you spend, everything in Paris is pricey compared to the states!

The location is amazing. Two minute walk to the Metro stop Grands Boulevards, and the area is overflowing with restaurants, cafes, and crepreries. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a decent place at a decent price in Paris.

Stayed 3 days / 2 nights at this hotel back in October 2007. It's a nice 2 stars, nothing really fancy about this, but very well located (Grands Boulevards) in a very quiet place. The street it's located on is very small and only taken by people who live there, and there aren't much as there are 5 hotels in that street !
Room was quite small, like always in Paris, en-suite bathroom with tub, all very clean. It's cozy, personnel might seem unattentive to some, but for us, they were polite and that's basically all we're looking for.
So all in all, not a hotel I would always go back to (price is quite hight at 100 € per night, but again, that's Paris !), but definitely a good choice.
