“An interesting find in Montparnasse”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Montparnasse is an area of Paris we rarely visit as we don't need to be there for our business. One of our local friends invited us here and we didn't regret it one bit.

We ordered the "saumon mariné par nos soins", the house marinated salmon and received a full description of the marinade process which is carried out in house by the chef. My host had the noix de Saint Jacques (scallops) and we both had the "Tartare de boeuf" as main courses.

On the limited wine list we discovered a red Burgundy wine and went for the pinot noir which added some strong flavors to our red meat ......... simply great.

We ended our meal with an "assiette de fromage" - cheese platter and coffee.

To make our experience complete, the waitress offered the "pousse café" in our case a marvelous Calva (short for Calvados) and an extra glass of Bourgogne.

Thanks to the lady and the cute chef for a wonderful dinner.

Fantastic French restaurant.
Was walking through Paris late on monday night (approx 2215) looking for somewhere to eat. Nowhere was open or taking anymore customers. Except for Le Morgane.
Small and cosy with only a few other customers in the restaurant. was served immediately and didnt have to wait long for the food. When it arrived the food was sublime, neither me or any others in my party could pick fault with our dishes.
Highly recommended!!!

“Great dinner - (English speaking) family of 4”
Reviewed 4 April 2014

Dinner for 4, 2 adults, 2 picky kids. The hostess was very, very nice, despite our awful, embarrassing french.

The adults are admittedly food snobs. The kids - always want the most plain food possible.

Every bite was fantastic. They even took back one of the kids steaks to cook it more.

“Quite disappointing...”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

I've booked this restaurant for a Saturday dinner (two couples, friends visiting Paris + two of us living in Paris) on a Valentine's day weekend. We wanted to try a new bistro and decided on this one, mainly because of encouraging reviews on TripAdvisor.

We were quite disappointed with the service - the waitress did not pay attention to us, we repeatedly asked her to bring us "une carafe d'eau", but at the end left without having a sip of water. Getting "l'addition" took quite some hand-waving and attention-seeking from our side, despite the fact that the bistro is small, and there were all together only 4-5 parties of people in. We have not seen the young chef, except when we were already about to go out - he came over to another table to explain the different "mignardises" that accompany café gourmand... a service we have not received ourselves from the waitress.

The food was very average. We have definitely tasted better foie gras and tartare de boeuf. Fish with lentils (lentilles vertes du puy) an unusual dish, which was not bad. Bordeaux that was recommended to us was good, but not the best price-quality ratio. We took four café gourmands, and of the praised "mignardises" we would say they were really just average...

All in all, quite a disappointing experience, with a bad price-quality ratio.

“Very nice atmosphere and food”
Reviewed 4 February 2014

Went there with 5 work colleagues, about 21:00 in the evening. The lady hostess was very nice, food was very good. Overall atmosphere of the place is fantastic in my opinion - overall we enjoyed very much.

The place is not very big and not very fancy, but a really nice place to have a good casual dinner in Paris.

Main courses for about 15-25 euros.
