Everything is good in that lovely boutique hotel: the rooms, food, service and location. One of the best in Paris. I found it at the same level of 5 stars hotel with 4 stars rates.

They try there best to friendly to make up for the faults in this property. As a Gold Ambassdor I got an upgrade, thank goodness, as the upgraded room didn t have a bathtub at all, only a shower (is this a five star hotel). For the positive, the room was big enough and had high ceiling, which I enjoy! Also the lobby staff tried right away to respond, for example when their business center (or should I say the cramped one laptop corner) wouldn't boot-up.

Very positive is the location is good and convenient. There were almost always people at the door. The elevator was very nice, meaning it was rapid and big enough that you don't feel cramped, but I would expect the two above things at any intercontinental.

A strange thing, the separate outer entry for the restaurant and the hotel, though they actually both just lead into the small lobby. And when you come down by the stairs, you can hardly get out of the door due to a type of bar-reception area you must pass.
Climate control - not very accurate and had to use heat to cool down the air-conditioning.
The most negative - the bathroom. The sink was square and dingy, and, unfortunately, because of the design, the water left marks along all the edges, so even when clean, the sink appears dirty. When you enter the bathroom, you just about hit the shower door, because they are so close. The lights are not bright enough to shave, though the enlarging mirror was a good idea, without the lights, it doesn't help much. To get in the shower you must shut the outer door, but since there is no ventilation it fogs up the bathroom, of course. Worst of all, even for men, you need a place to put your deodorant, razor and other articles. Since there are no spaces to do so, a stool was placed next to the sink! Not an adequate solution, and for a room for 2 persons, one had to remove their things for the other to place theirs. That is no way a 4 or 5 star experience, but you pay the price as if it were one.

Maybe this was special about my room, but at a hotel like this I expect all rooms, and especially an upgraded one, to be tip top! And, again, you pay the price.

Room Tip: I cant say - my room faced the road, so it was somewhat noisy, but, fortunately, it was the weekend.

Dear guest,

First of all we would like to thank you for choosing the Intercontinental Avenue Marceau for your stay in Paris.

Further to your comment, which I read with very careful attention, I would like to thank you for having taken the time to inform us about your discontent.

I was deeply sorry to hear that you were disappointed and that your stay did not meet your expectations. I understand your discontent and frustration regarding the size of our bathrooms. Our boutique hotel offers 55 stylish and designed rooms, all different from one another.

Please believe that no effort will be spared to make your next stay most enjoyable. I would be glad to show you other types of rooms, in order to show you that we can do better.

Once again I would like to apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

To make up for the shortcomings experience, we would be grateful if you could get back to us by email: eb@ic-marceau.com to offer compensation, as your comment is anonymous.

I remain at your entire disposal for any information or assistance you may need.

Kind regards,

A well located ‘boutique-style’ hotel, just down from the Arc de Triomphe. Check-in was quick and efficient. Rooms are not the biggest but perfectly adequate and well arranged. Bed was particularly comfy and despite being on the front of the hotel, we were not bothered by traffic noise. We were on a room only rate and didn’t eat breakfast in the hotel (EUR 30 per person), instead we had a continental at Cafe Josephine directly across from the hotel (open Mon-Fri). Plenty of restaurants in the area and a good location for easy access to the main metro lines. Hotel staff, notably the concierges were excellent and extremely helpful, I had a delivery to the hotel prior to arrival and their communication was excellent. The hotel is expensive but in line with similar hotels in that location. We bought champagne and chocolates for a treat one afternoon from local shops on Rue de Chaillot (5 min walk), here you can also find a supermarket and boulangerie / patisserie. Would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: View at the front ok but noisier

I just returned from a trip where I spent 5 nights at the Intercontinental Avenue Marceau in Paris. I cannot adequately praise this hotel! The hotel is beautiful and very stylish. The staff is very warm and welcoming. They were always helpful when we needed assistance. Our room was small, but beautiful - the bed was unbelievable comfortable. We had a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. The location is perfect - right near the Arch de Triomphe and a metro stop. I would love to stay here again. I would highly recommend that anyone going to Paris stay a this hotel. No complaints at all.

I enjoyed 8 nights stay at Intercon Av Marceau.

The Reception staff, Concierge services, dry cleaning/laundry were all excellent.

Location was most convenient to Champs Élysées, Arc de Triumph and No 1 (Yellow) Line which the closest stop is George V (Cinq).

Tho the Superior Room was small the bathroom was not and that was a blessing!

However, the sink in bathroom was designed such that water would splash out whilst washing hands so they need to redesign/replace the tap?!

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to be in the heart of action in Paris :)

The Intercontinental chain as a whole is top notch and this hotel ranks among the best we have stayed in. The staff (Laura, Agnes, Sophie, and others come to mind) are EXCELLENT. The rooms were very comfortable and the views we had of the Arc de Triomphe was fantastic. The local is convenient to the Champs de Elysses (two blocks), to the Eiffel Tower (15 minute walk), and to the Louvre (a bit of a walk, but made nicer with convenient Crepe kiosks to break up the trip). The restaurant was excellent (if the blackened goose is available, get it!). The stereotype of the French as non-accommadating was totally erroneous - I appreciated their English fluency and attentiveness. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Room Tip: We are Ambassador club members and were upgraded to a balcony room with a view of the Arc de Triomph...
