We stumbled across the restaurant after doing the Fat Tire cycle tour. It was 4.15 and the restaurant was about half full and we chose a spot outside under the canopy. We had a typical French meal of pâté (or is that Belgian?) and steak. The food was outstanding and great value for Paris. The waiter (sorry I can't remember his name) spoke very good English. We practised our French and he likewise his English. We couldn't decide which cheese to choose, so he brought out all 4 options for us to try and only charged us for one plate. The wine was €5 for a large glass of Morgan or Chinnon. We spent 2.5 hours in Le Piquet and enjoyed every minute. So relaxing. The location, atmosphere and staff were superb. The restaurant is next to the Ecole de Militaire.
It's tricky to know where to eat in Paris. Le Piquet is typically French with a simple menu and great value. Overall, we paid €70 for a 3 course meal with 4 large glasses of wine. Great value for Paris.
