We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel le Petit Paris. The staff was extremely helpful and willing to do whatever was necessary to ensure we had a pleasant stay. Our lack of French was never a problem as the staff had no problem helping us in English. Each room is individually designed and featured many modern touches. We were told at check-in that our room had a medieval theme (which made me a bit nervous), but all my fears were laid to rest when we opened the door to our well-appointed modern room. The medieval theme was created through subtle touches in the finishes and accessories of the room. The room had a flat screen TV in the bedroom and another one in the wall of the shower. The room was small, but well laid out. The bathroom was very nice with LEDs built into the tiles of the shower and the rainfall shower head. The location (close to the Sorbonne, Luxembourg Gardens, and Pantheon) made it easy to get around the city for sightseeing. The Luxembourg stop of the RER is very close, but we were able to easily walk to and from Notre Dame and other attractions. All in all, we had a great stay and would definitely book again when we return to Paris.

As a couple, we wanted a central location in a smaller, boutique hotel as we were only in Paris for 2 nights. As others have said on here, it is completly understandable (and deserved) as to why the hotel is ranked so high; the staff are very helpful, the decor is impressive, and you really feel like you are in your own boutique parisian paradise.

That being said, our overall 'very good' rating just misses out on 'excellent' due to a couple of relatively minor points, most of which can easily be rectified as the hotel grows older (it is only recently opened). Namely, Valentines weekend in Paris was extremely cold (negative degrees) and unfortunately one evening our air con just wouldnt stop blowing cold air into our room- we called reception who, while very polite, couldnt help rectify the problem. Fortunately the duvets in the room are both extremely comfortable and very warm, so we managed! The minor detail points referenced above include having an electrical socket near the shower (!), missing towel racks, no place to put amentities while showering, and a broken light (wires hanging out). These can be forgiven as the hotel is finding its feet, but still need to be rectified - a standout hotel is one that pays attention to all the little details.

Those comments, however, did not take away from a fantastic stay- we were near a ton of boulangeries which all make fantastic bread, some very nice bistro's as well as the Jardin du luxembourg.

Yes- the hotel is near a subway. But i implore you- dont get on it..WALK..this is a beautiful city.

I stayed that the Hotel Le Petit Paris for an extended weekend in November at the end of a business trip in Europe and I was not disappointed. I choose the hotel on the basis of the reviews of trip advisor which ranked then the hotel as #1 in Paris. I feel that the current ranking, slightly lower, is more in line with reality. As mentioned in many reviews it is a lovely boutique hotel in a wonderful location and with an outstanding staff. Our room, albeit being one of the largest one, was fairly small but well appointed and very comfortable for a leisure stay. However, I would not recommend it for a business stay as it would be very difficult do any work in the absence of a desk. The only small round table in the room and associated armchairs are not appropriate for that purpose. The bath room with its LED lighting was spectacular but not very functional. The small balcony is lovely but, unfortunately, we could not take advantage of it due to the weather. In short, Le Petit Paris is a wonderful place for a romantic visit to Paris but it may not be as appropriate for a business traveler who needs to work in the room

4 stops from the Gare du Nord Eurotunnel terminal, the hotel is on a quiet spur away from the madding crowd. South of the river is an up and coming area and the recent hotel refurb reflects that.

The hotel is small, but that's a benefit, not a criticism. The facilities, attitude and friendliness of the staff is 1st rate and you'll not be left wanting for any of the larger hotel bits after staying.

The hotel seems to be a town house which has been converted. The owner explained that it used to be a hostel type of hotel and needed a huge amount of work to get it to the state it's in now. The design approach seems extremely contemporary with lovely touches throughout. I'll post some photos, but there's a modern take on the chandelier in reception, a bookcase with jauntily arranged vibrantly coloured boxes, an unusual raised wallpaper and a Space 1999 type sit in bubble seat. Words don't do it justice.

We took the suite which is up on the 1st floor. The room was fairly spacious - although some of my friends' rooms were not. The suite has an en suite bathroom and a riased wardrobe area. All colours are warm and welcoming. The TV had more channels than I've seen in a long time although there was no DVD or stereo. (which you'd expect at this price point).

The bathroom was nicely done with a TV above the bath. Only compliant here is that it's a bit small - taller people will struggle in this bath. The shower is great though. Another nice touch is that the air con (if you use it) is quiet, whisper quiet.

I didn't have the breakfast so can't comment, but this was down to the honesty bar which damaged me beyond a midday wake up call.

All of this comes at a bit of a price though - but exclusivity usually does.

We stayed at this hotel the first week of the New Year and loved it!! When we first arrived I was a bit worried as it is tiny, but was wowed by the decorating and cleanliness, and quickly fell in love with this hotel. Each room is individually decorated and absolutely gorgeous!! Rooms are tiny but well planned for maximum use of space. We traveled with our two teenage daughters and they had there own room and were in heaven. I wouldn't suggest staying there if you have very young ones though as I imagine it would get claustrophobic.

The bathrooms are state of the art with full flat screen in the bath/shower. Shower is heavenly coming from the ceiling (I wish we had that in America!). Beds are very comfortable but truth be told could use a featherbed over the mattress as the kings are two twins mushed together (as they are in most European hotels).

Hotel was immaculate and staff beyond helpful. Alexandra was a dream come true when my husband had to print out a lengthy work document. They were also extremely helpful in finding us store hours, maps and suggestions for our excursions in Paris.

They do not have room service, which would normally be a pain except the street on which the hotel is located is jam packed with exotic restaurants, bakeries, and grocers. Have you ever had Tibetan cuisine? it's delicious and right next door to the hotel!!!

Location was perfect for us as we enjoy walking and taking the metro. St. Germain is lovely and my kids LOVE the Luxembourg Gardens!!!

The only improvement I would suggest would be including breakfast in the room rate. It is 10 Euros per person which is about 15.00 US. There were 4 of us which of course would have made breakfast 60.00 every morning. Considering it was some juice, coffee and croissants we didn't do it. Instead we made a mad dash to the the market and bakery while in our pajamas and coats as soon as we woke up. They'll be talking about us on Rue St Jacques for quite some time... We saved about 45.00 a day doing this. However coffee and bottled water is free!!!

I would recommend this hotel to all except those traveling with small children. I look forward to staying there again as soon as possible!!

My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights when we were in Paris for New Year. We had such a wonderful time.

As other have said unless you know what you're looking for it is very easy to walk past the hotel on Rue St Jacques as there is only a subtle sign next to the entrance. However, it was very simple to get to the hotel from the airport (it was about a 30-40 min journey (check which train you get as some are "quick trains" which only stop at 3 or 4 stations others seem to stop at every station)) . The train station (Luxembourg) is only a 5 min walk from the hotel.

Each room at the hotel is styled in a different way. We stayed in room 503 which was a 70's style room. As with all hotel rooms they're not big but that didn't matter to me. The decor was lovely and we had an amazing view across the rooftops of Paris including a view of the Eiffel tower in the distance. The whole room was finished to a good standard. There was also small mini bar hidden in the cupboard (i think it was either 3 or 4 euros for a can of coke).

There is a lounge area next to the reception on the ground floor where you can help yourself to complimentary tea or coffee all day. The lounge as with the rest of the hotel was very stylish and very relaxing. Between 6 pm and 12pm there is an honesty bar that operates which seems to work very well. There was a good choice of drinks. The free wifi throughout the hotel was also a bonus. There was a laptop in the lounge that guests could use.

One thing that i couldn't rate highly enough about the hotel was the staff. They were the best reception staff i have ever had to deal with. Alexandra deserves a special mention. She was so, so helpful! Alexandra recommended and booked some fabulous restaurants for us throughout our time in Paris. She also helped my husband to suprise me with some beautiful flowers. Her English was perfect and she was more than willing to help us improve our very dodgy French.

The only hint of a negative thing that i could say about the hotel was that a couple of the rooms appear to back on to the lift shaft and you can hear the noise when you're in the rooms but it didn't bother me at all. There are only approx 20 rooms at the hotel and as such the lift didn't seem to be used too often.

As to the rest of Paris we loved it all. The Pantheon and Notre Dame were only 5-10 mins walk away. There were lots of lovely cafe's in Saint Germain. We also loved having a walk around the Latin Quarter. The only place that dissapointed was the famous cafe Angelina's. Having queued up outside for 10 mins with high hopes of the best hot chocolate in Paris what i was actually met with was a horrible drink and a very rude waitress. I wouldn't waste my time going back there.

We'll definiately be going back to Le Petite Paris Hotel the next time we are in Paris. Loved it!!
