“The Only Way to Go!!”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

I have used Best of France Tours three times, most recently in July 2014 for a day excursion from Paris into the Champagne region. Philippe Brimont is an exceptional host and guide. On our most recent adventure, he was able to arrange an appointment at a Champagne house I have aspired to visit for years. He made it happen. In addition, he chose a brilliant lunch spot in Epernay, and also took time to stop at the village church, a quiet abbey on a lovely hillside outside of Epernay, in Hautevillers, where two of my idols rest, Dom Pérignon and Dom Ruinart.

Philippe was born in the region and knows many quaint locations and also has relationships with locals who produce lessor known, yet exceptional bubbles. His vehicles are impeccable. You will not be disappointed in his services. Great personality. Knowledgeable about France and its history and also provides personalized, private luxury tours to many areas in France. On our next trip, we are booking him for Normandy!

“Best of France Tours”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

We would give Best of France Tours a 4.5 stars if we could. We found Phillipe very responsive in structuring the tours for our 5 days in and around Paris for a party of 6 people. The English speaking tour guides were all very knowledgeable and friendly. Our day trip to Normandy was excellent and Phillipe was a very knowledgeable and friendly person. If you go to Normandy, request Phillipe because he will make the trip memorable. We had a day long tour of Versailles with Frederick. Definitely would recommend Fredrick for his knowledge, sense of humor, and accommodating manner for Versailles. For our day long City Tour we decided to go to the local market to buy items and bought some wine and prepared our own lunch instead of eating in a restaurant. It was a nice experience but does cut down what you can see of the City. We had a 3.5 hour guided tour of the Louvre. While our guide was knowledgeable, we wished she would have shown us more of the masterpieces instead of telling us too much about the lesser known things about the masterpieces we did see.

“Mont St Michel and D-Day/Normandy”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

I cannot offer higher recommendations! This was an absolute highlight during our trip to Paris. Philippe was a kind, entertaining, and highly informative host. We had a very comfortable ride to Mont St. Michel with a very nice lunch prior to the island. On the island, Best of France provided a great guide who took us through the "back ways" up to the chapel. Philippe then transported us to Bayeux where we stayed at Hotel d'Argouges. The next day was really special. He will tailor the tour according to your desire and his extensive knowledge. We walked Omaha and the American cemetery. He describes the battle as you walk. Afterwards, we visited Sword and the large intact battlement. Highest recommendations!

“Tour of Versailles and Paris Highlights with Best of a France Tours ”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 via mobile

July 17, 2014

After taking the high speed Thalys train from Amsterdam to Paris with a day stop in Brussels, we met our guide from Best of France the following day. We were in for a full 8 hour day of touring the historic sites of Paris followed by a private tour of the Palace of Versailles.

Frederic arrived at our hotel in District 1 promptly at 8:00 a.m. in an air conditioned Mercedes van comfortably big enough for our party of five. Explaining a slight change of plans, Frederic took us to the Palace at Versailles first, emphasizing the need to avoid the huge July crowds. He explained that Europeans vacation in July and August, so getting to the Palace early is recommended.

We spent approximately 40 minutes navigating the early morning traffic before we arrived in Versailles. Parking was plentiful and Frederic wasted no time moving us in the direction of the gold gilded palace. He allowed us to take several pictures and then whisked us to the head of a rapidly growing line of tourists. Within minutes we were inside and Frederic began to tell us about the history of the palace and it's inhabitants over the centuries. He was incredibly informative, answering our questions as we went. Over the next several hours the depth of his knowledge proved exceptional.

We left the palace after 3 1/2 hours and Frederic took us for lunch. We parked on a quiet tree lined street and walked to a beautiful French bakery that provided a sumptuous lunch of sandwiches and salads. The small sidewalk tables under the shade trees provided a perfect oasis from the July Paris heat.

After lunch Frederic took us to all the historic sites around the city, stopping in each location for photos. At each stop he gave a lengthy historical account and answered our questions. Both his knowledge and presentation were exceptional. And, he was a delight to be with.

Best of France Tours is the best for all the right reasons.
