“Wonderful 4 nights stay”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

Just back from Paris. I followed the recommendation of Tripadvisor and am so glad to say that Hotel Joyce is simply excellent.

1) They allowed us to leave our luggage there when we went to Mont Saint Michel for 2 nights.

2) Check in and check out were hassle free

3) Our room 507 was marvellous, very clean and huge by Paris standard. The toilet was big with a bath tub.

4) Breakfast spread was good. They serve food and drinks throughout the entire day. This is good after a day of sightseeing. You can rest and have drinks with pastries and bread.

5) The staff are very efficient. They helped me with restaurant booking, gave good recommendations and best of all, they always put on a smile, even the restaurant staff were very friendly too. One Front desk staff was so kind to offer us drinks when we come back very late like 12 midnight. I forgot to ask for his name.

6) The location is good, with many restaurants all around. There is even a supermarket Carrefour within a few minutes walk.

This is how Hotels should be run, making guests feel comfortable and welcome while at the same time providing good value. My husband and I love this Hotel so much that we are planning to bring our children to Paris year end.

Thank you Jennifer, Alice, Hatem, and all the staff who made our stay so enjoyable.

Having read the almost unanimous positive reviews there is not much to add. It's quite convenient if you like walking but the local Metro is only on one line so changes are usually necessary to get further afield.

Breakfast is OK, the furniture is described as quirky but others might say impractical. Once in some seats you won't be able to exit until others let you.

It's excellently clean and our room over the courtyard was so peaceful. The room was hot though and nothing other than leaving a large window wide open would cool it. No plug in the washbasin and when challenged they did produce one. However it still didn't work.

The 'open bar' is handy but a kettle etc in the room (admittedly rare in these parts) would have been more welcome.

Wi-fi was very good.

Room Tip: Over the courtyard are probably the quietest though it looks like there may be building work around...

Great friendly and helpful service in a comfortable hotel with a fresh feel. Fairy central location but in a quiet spot. Would definitely stay again. Minor niggle - lift mechanism was noisy/creaky and woke us up if the window was open.

Room Tip: would avoid rooms near lift (creaky)

Hotel Joyce is really nice for a Paris property - rooms are a little tight, but by European standards, very comfortable. The best part was the location, situated right in the 9th arr. you are in walking distance of two metro lines and can pretty much walk everywhere from Sacre Coure to the Louvre. There were also some great little cafes and restaurants close by.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially the gentleman who went out of his way to get me in my room early when I arrived 3 hours before check in.

Would recommend this property and would stay here again.

This is a fabulous little boutique hotel. Everything you could require, nice bedroom with lovely clean bathroom, good Buffett breakfast and fantastic helpful staff. A bonus is the free Buffett during the day for tea, coffee, juice, nibbles, cake etc. I would recommend this hotel, the area is good with lots of nice restaurants and cafés etc and handy for the metro as well. Would definitely stop here again.

My husband and I just spent two nights here and liked the hotel very much. The bed was a proper double bed, the bathroom was good, and our room (5th floor overlooking the back) was quiet, stylish, and in good condition. The breakfast was a nice buffet, and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was small, it has to be said, but as our stay was short and we had only two carry-on suitcases, it wasn't a problem.
