“Romantic, cosy and not for your average tourist”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 October 2011

We spent the first 5 nights of our honeymoon at this hotel and had a wonderful stay.

Our room (Musee D'Orsay) was an absolute delight. It was tastefully decorated with a comfortable bed, rain shower and spa bath. Others call the room small but unless you plan on entertaining guests in your hotel room there is ample space and we stayed comfortably for 5 nights.

The location is great if you're looking for a Parisan experience. The main attractions range between 20 mins to an hours walk but I'm told there is a metro next door. We spent hours walking throughout the city and loved every minute.

The breakfast is ample and tasty. There are at least 20 eateries on the street which are filled with local Parisans. The Japanese restaurant next door is great value.

Finally the staff are very attentive and polite. The manager Adis understands the importance of being customer focused and became a trusted confidant throughout our stay (warned us away from tours which were over priced, offered wonderful restaurant suggestions and assisted with any other requests we had).

This hotel is very much a boutique hotel ideal for guests who are looking for very comfortable rooms and away from the usual tourist haunts. We can't wait to return.

The staff at the hotel were just so wonderful and accommodating! Always cheerful and patient with their guests! Even seeing them on the streets in Paris, they stopped to say hello and see if everything was satisfactory with our stay. It was very clean which is my number one concern when I travel. This hotel is in walking distance to many of Paris' great sights, including the Moulin Rouge, which is also one of their many themed rooms. It is so quirky and upbeat. The spiral staircase almost gives you an Alice in Wonderland type feel when looking down from the top. They also offer a workout room and the option to change rooms every night if you want so you can get a feel of all their wonderfully themed rooms. You will not be disappointed with this hotel. It is definitely one of kind and worth every penny!

We stayed in 2 different rooms - Musee D'Orsay and Eifel Tower - and margianlly preferred the Musee one, although both were good. The rooms aren't huge, but big enough and well decorated. The bathrooms are very stylish, with good showers and/or jacuzzistyle tubs. Staff were friendly and helpful. £ mins work to Place de Cluny metro, 10 mins from Sacre Coeur or Moulin Rouge (try Chez toinetter or Al Caratello - see reviews - for dinner, each about 10-15 mins stroll away), or 5 mins from Gare de Lazard. We didn't have breakfast here, but grabbed something from the bakery about 2 doors away, both cheap and delicious.

Room Tip: Take a look at all the room theme types on their website and change rooms each night

The service is fantastic, the rooms are adorable and clean, the staff is wonderful, and the location is great. Each room is designed very well, from the lighting fixtures to the decor. I also loved french-door windows. We opened them every night and listened to the sounds of Paris as we fell asleep. The attention to deal was just perfect! The breakfast which was included in the deal was also lovely, and fresh. Bed was more than confortable specially after a day in this hectic but nevertheless gorgeous town

It's rare to find an hotel which turns out to look better in real life than in its promo pictures, and that was the case in Secret de Paris. We stayed there for 5 nights and tried 3 different rooms (Opera, Moulin Rouge and Eiffel Tour) and really enjoyed each of them! On top of the beautifully designed rooms we were welcomed with a very friendly hotel staff. The hotel breakfast is worth the 17 EUR and is highly recommended, and the coffee is the best one that we've had in France.

Room Tip: The Opera room was our favourite

We stayed here for 2 nights on the 21st and 22nd of Aug. The rooms are on a smaller side but plenty of room for 2 people. We stayed in the moulin rouge room on the 5th floor and had a street view. I liked the room design alot and the themed rooms give it character but it is still very modern. Bathroom was nice and clean. The shower head looks better than it is but is still good.
Breakfast is a buffet of cold cuts and breads than you chose how you would like your eggs and they cook them to order. The eggs are abit overcooked and the bread is stale. If you go down place de clichy there is some great cafes.

The location is ok, not fantastic. Its right near the moulin rouge and pigalle rd which is know for its red light district and is not safe at night. It is about a 20min walk to the champes elysees, which is the main road.

Staff were helpful at times with making bookings and always being polite. We did have a issue with our laundry though, on the price list they do not mention it is a pressing service not a cleaning service. The 1st night we got there we needed our washing done so we took it downstairs expecting it to be back by the next afternoon. It was not there until 10am the morning we were checking out when we wanted to be gone by 8am. We finally got our washing and the bill was for 180 euros!!! We estimated it would cost around 50euros! There was nothing we could do about it but pay it. I would suggest to walk down the road for 1 min and go to the laundry mat yourself. We wish we saw it before we dropped our washing off and went there.

We also had a issue with parking. The carpark is about 6 blocks away so best to drop your bags off than go park. It is also a very complex carpark to get in and out of. The desk where you are ment to pay is on level 3 hidden. It would of been nice if the hotel staff knew this instead of making us walk around of 30mins looking for it.

Overall nice hotel nice rooms but crap location will we stay somewhere more central.
