“Boutique and service at its best.”
Reviewed 27 March 2014

We stayed for two nights for our first ever time in Paris and after reviewing loads of other hotels, the reviews for Design Secret won us over and these reviews were more than true.
This little gem of a Hotel is amazing and its staff made it even better. We would defintely stay again, we found the location good and only 5 minutes walk to the nearest metro station, the metro sytsem makes it easy to navigate around Paris and is so simple to use. so why would you want stay in any of the more central chain hotels where service levels fail.
We arrived way too early to book in, but had planned this and left our luggage, this was taken to our room before we returned, Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice and of quality with no delays with a morning greeting from the staff, so It's these little touches that make you feel special
There's a good choice of Restaurants nearby as well, which they can recomend and book. We had alot of assistance from Wilman whose service was exceptional he deserves praise, but to be fair everyone was faultless and would no doubt have offered the same service level.
Many thanks to all at Hotel Secret De Paris who helped make a break we won't forget.

We arrived to Secret de Paris having had 2 planes cancelled, been rerouted to Marseilles by bus, and then to a third plane. Instead of arriving at 3:00 in the afternoon, we arrived at 10:00 at night. Our hostess was charming and friendly. She calmed us down, showed us our room, explained the opportunity to move rooms each day. We decided to end the day with a half bottle of wine in the lounge to unwind. Good decision.

Before leaving for our 1st day of touring we requested that a reservation be made at Tentazioni. We celebrated the end of first day of touring with tea in the lounge. Perfect! Reservations had been made at Tentazioni. Dinner was very good.

On day 2 before we left the hotel we asked if reservations could be made for Pantruche ( a decidedly challenging neighborhood restaurant for reservations). That was not possible, so reservations were made at les Cainelles, a comparable restaurant we were assured. It was superb! Dinner was better than anything Julia Child could have conjured. Wine was sublime.

Secret de Paris is a boutique hotel where the staff have apparently trained under the charm of Caroline Canny the directrice. The staff were unfailingly kind, charming, and effusive in genuine good cheer. Our trip was delightful in large measure to these remarkable young hosts and hostesses.

Room Tip: We chose to stay in our same room, The Moulin Rouge, because we like red and we dislike packing up a...

Dear Bonnie, I am delighted that you had a lovely time with us after having such a difficult arrival in France! Be assured that I have passed on your kind words to the team and thanks to you, we added the word "Ebullient" to our vocabulary :) Our neighborhood is full of little gems like "Les Canailles" and I am glad that I could make you discover one! I hope to welcome you again in the future and this time, I will get a table at Pantruche for you! Kind regards, Caroline Canny

We had a great time at Secret De Paris, having left our previously extortionate accommodation we moved into this very good value themed hotel.

Very friendly staff, the whole place was impossible to take seriously, from the multi setting lighting system (bright through to brothel) to the Jacuzzi bath and the room size reproduction of the Musée d'Orsay Clock.

Hilariously great fun.

We stayed here for 3 nights last week and enjoyed our stay. The hotel in general has a very romantic feel and our room gave us the same feeling. We chose the Musee d'Orsay room and the first thing you tend to see when you open the door is a replica of the beautiful clock on the museum building. The bathroom has recessed blue lighting above the 2 person whirlpool tub and rain shower, which can set the mood. One cool thing we discovered is that with the push of a button, the TV emerges from and descends back into a shelf at the foot of the bed.

The only slight downfall is that the rooms are small, but it is a standard sized room for a European hotel room, and it was no problem for just the two of us.

I would only recommend this hotel for couples, and not families. The reason I state this is because there is really no privacy. There were no shower doors, and what separates the bathroom door from the rest of the room is a glass partition. So everyone will see everyone else take showers and get dressed.

The hotel also has a sauna and workout room. And you're able to make appointments for massages, which is nice. They also serve breakfast, which is really expensive (18 euros pp), so we declined and went to eat at the many restaurants found right outside the hotel.

The location for this hotel is great. We were 5 minutes walking distance from Moulin Rouge (which we walked to at 11pm on a Saturday with no issues, but recommend taking a taxi back to avoid the perverts lurking around after the show), and 10 minutes walking distance from Palais Garnier and the Galeries Lafayette department store. There are also many shops and restaurants in the area.

Side note: I really recommend eating at the Japanese restaurant next door to the hotel. It was our best meal in Paris.

Dear Cheerrish, thank you very much for writing such a detailed review of our hotel. I am thrilled to read that you enjoyed sleeping inside the Musée d'Orsay! Regarding our breakfast, it is almost like a brunch as we offer, on top of the regular croissants & baguettes, a selection of cold meat, fresh fruits, cheese as well as eggs made to order & unlimited hot drinks and juices. We offer this at 15€ per person on our official website if your reserve it in advance! I hope you will give it a try during your next visit :). Kind regards, Caroline Canny

Just returned from a two night stay with my boyfriend which he bought me as a birthday present. The hotel is literally amazing and just a 2 minute walk from the nearest tube station.

From the moment we arrived in the hotel we were greeted by the lovely staff who took our bags into their luggage room because we arrived a few hours earlier than check in time and the room wasn't quite ready. This gave us scope to begin exploring Paris without having to lug our bags around!
On our return we had absolute 5* service and a gentleman took our bags up to our room for us before demonstrating how all the features of the room work.
The room was just lovely. It was quite a small room yet so cosy and well decorated with numerous options for room lighting. The double Jacuzzi bath in the bathroom with different colour lighting was incredible; so relaxing and such a novelty. The mini fridge with complimentary water and orange juice was a nice touch and a small balcony looking out onto the street was also a nice addition. The room was completely soundproof so the busy street didn't affect us at all. The hotel also has a 24hour sauna which you can use but we didn't get round to it! The hotel bar area is a lovely setting and serves yummy cocktails!

Breakfast was really nice, huge croissants and pain au chocolats, breads hams and cheeses with eggs/bacon freshly made to order. Also the freshly squeezed orange juice was delicious!

All in all, such a lovely and romantic stay with the most perfect surroundings. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a romantic get away and i'm already looking forward to returning here in the future!

Room Tip: Choose a room with a Jacuzzi bath, it's amazing!

After a lot of deliberation, we booked Secret de Paris for our visit to Paris last May, occasion being our honeymoon! A wonderful experience is all we can say, right from the moment they identified us by name just as we entered the hotel to the welcome drink to the fantastic themed rooms! We stayed in Eiffel and Opera Garnier rooms, two days each and absolutely loved the effects in both. Jacuzzi in both the rooms just made us laze longer in the room than planned! :) it is fairly close to Leige station, should be a 5 minute walk and there is a Starbucks right opposite the metro station. There is an Indian restaurant couple of blocks away as well, though we stuck to pizzas n pastas all trip! Finally, the breakfast was delicious, the eggs made to order and hot chocolate, both were very nicely done. Overall, enjoyed every moment and have to say, one of the best service we have experienced in our trips from the super friendly staff!

And very classy guests! Dear Sreevardane, we were delighted to welcome you on your honeymoon. It has been almost a year now since your visit, I hope that you will have the opportunity to come again all the way from beautiful India:) I don't know if this was the restaurant you tried but there is a lovely one called "Nirvana" just 5 minutes away from our hotel! My girlfriend and I stayed here just before Christmas 2013 and we had very high hopes after reading all the brilliant reviews. We were not let down. The staff were so friendly and helpful the whole time we were there. We had the Eiffel Tower Room for 2 nights and the Trocadero room for the other 2. They were beautiful rooms with so much thought put into them with gorgeous mood lighting! Breakfast was a massive buffet including breads, croissants, pancakes, cheeses, fruits and meats and you were offered eggs and hot drinks on request. We had the best 4 nights in this hotel and can't wait to come back. Have told everyone about this hotel and would recommend to anybody.Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Dear Lewis, it is wonderful to read that you had such a good time with us and even more that you will be coming back! You still have 4 concepts to discover so which one will it be: Opera Garnier, Musée d'Orsay, Moulin Rouge or Atelier d'Artiste? We hope to discover it soon! Kind regards, Caroline Canny
