This was our first trip to Paris and a friend who had booked a private tour with Experience Paris for their honeymoon highly recommended the company. Since we weren't on a honeymoon budget, we booked a shared tour which was supposed to be with up to 6 other people and included a visit to two smaller family vineyards, one of the big champagne houses, Moët et Chandon and lunch at a small village. Peggy, our guide and driver, picked us up at the apartment we rented for the week and to our surprise and delight we were the only people who had booked the tour that day! We had a wonderful, very personal, experience! We visited Mr. forget's very charming vineyard which I loved!! We got to meet the winemaker himself and we learned a lot about The process of making Champagne and the wine tasted great! We had lunch at a very quaint restaurant that wasn't fancy, but he food was good. We visited a very old abbey where we learned about the history of the monk Dom Perignon (who knew he was a monk??) and we saw where he is buried! Then we visited the very impressive house of Moët where we also ended up with a private tour and tasting! It was a wonderful day and Peggy was a great guide. It is definitely a bit on the pricey side, but it was an experience worth paying for!
