Great little hotel. Located in a nice quiet area. We purchased a 2 day metro pass to get to all the sights as they are not in walking distance but the subway is incredibly easy to navigate! Our room was clean and just as expected from photos online. Super friendly and helpful staff and you can't beat the price! Would have rated another star if breakfast was included but it was an extra 9€ per person.

First of all: I know hotels in Paris, and I thought I know what to expect from a hotel at this kind of low price (for Paris, that is). But this place pales in comparison to any youth hostel in Italy or street motel in Idaho. It is unbelievably loud because of the metro rumbling below, walls are paper thin, and all the appliances like shower, toilette seat, power socket, lamp, hair dryer, air condition, were broken. This place is just bad, don't go there, and if you insist: don't use the elevator!

We stayed here in room 302 this weekend...can recommend this room.
When we arrived..check in was completed in a few minutes!very efficient.

Lift works well and plenty of room for suitcases.

Once inside the room..you can't hear noise from any other part of the hotel..a bonus in paris!

Supermarket right next door has all the necessities needed.

Nice big window that can be easily opened to let air in.

Shower is good and powerful too.

A great room for the price..Stalingrad and Riquet are just a few steps away!

Highly recommend

We spent a couple of days in paris meeting family. Great little discovery at Le Canal. Rooms clean and tidy with room to move around and bathrooms bigger that a cupboard! Coffee and tea making facilities an unexpected bonus. Just around the corner is the canal basin La Villette, lovely for a stroll and places to eat. Also a multiplex cinema, you can even get a small 'ferry' boat to pick you up and take you to the other side - free of charge. No problems on arriving early, staff happy to store our luggage. The lift was a decent size 3 of us and bags no problem!
We had a great stay and would stay again. Easy to get anywhere from the metro station Rique - just up the road.

Hotel le Canal was a very well maintained hotel but not extremely close to the centre Paris. The reception point was very helpful at all times and spoke great english. The downside of the hotel was that the room was small and the toilet was even smaller. It is located nearby Staligrad Metro stop but around 40mins walk to the actual attractions that Paris is mostly famous for. The area is safe and the hotel is noticeable. Cleaning service every day is something that made our stay in the hotel comfortable and manageable despite the size of the room.

Room Tip: Rooms came up very affordable if booked a few months in advance.

If you are expecting the Four Seasons, then you definitely have a problem. This place is definitely small but is really well maintained and I had no complains on the hygiene or cleanliness front. My room was cute with a single bed and had lovely red accents. I had some excess luggage that I needed them to hold for me while I traveled around Paris and they did so happily. The lady at the reception is really sweet and helped me with my awful French! The breakfast here is also decent, though if you are in Paris then you really should be eating out every single day. My only grouse with this place would be the size of the bathroom. It was squeaky clean, but it was a tad too small for comfort. Maybe because I am so tall and like to dance while in the shower! Everything else here is a real steal at it's price.

Paris was the last stop in my long European vacation and I had over-spent everywhere else so I was literaly on shoe strings here. I booked myself at Le Canal after I got to Paris and got a little disheartened by the other 3 hotels I saw in my budget. Le Canal had everything I wanted. Cute reception area, nice clean good smelling rooms, clean loos, good breakfast spread in their nice cafeteria and my room even had a balcony! I was ultimately so happy that I got a room here. The lady at the reception was super sweet to me and gave me lots of instructions for where to eat, where to drink, what to see! This is a really cozy hotel and perfect for those who are looking to get lost in Paris without a worry in the world!
