“Cheap but clean with no frills”
Reviewed 15 May 2013

The hotel is located a 5 minute walk from the metro making it a good starting point for exploring Paris. The rooms are very cheap and the staff greeting you friendly (which is rare in Paris/France). However, you do get what you pay for. The room is small and lacking any touch such as paintings on the wall or other decoration. There is a bed (taking up most of the room) and a bathroom that could do with a touch up.

In short – a place for a cheap sleep but not a place to linger around.

Best – Nothing

Good – Value for money

Not so good – Room decor

We just came back last week and we were there for 4 nights. The hotel itself was great although I didn't liked our room that much because the carpet was a bit dirty. The staffs were great and helpful and the location was very convenient too. It was like 3 minutes walk to the metro station the only thing I didn't like so much was the street were the hotel was located it was kind of scary at night because there were drunk people hanging around the street. After all I do recommend this hotel for budget travellers.

Good value for money. Breakfest is €12 and it is not bad. You can also find nice breakfest bistros on the av. Clichy. Trip to the downtown by metro takes about 30 - 35 minutes.
The room are clean and quite small, but ok for a weekend. I would come back again.

Nothing special, but perfectly OK for a couple of nights (stayed there before the Paris marathon). Rue Gauthey is fairly quiet, but there is a lot more life if you get out on Avenue Clichy or Rue Guy Moquet. There is a popular local bistro on the corner of rue Gauthey going away from Brochante (just ask receptionist), and a terrific one - http://www.baravinlerefugedesmoines.com/ on the corner of rue des Moines and Guy Moquet (have to book, it's small and full in the evening!) The place is very close to the centre either walking or by metro. Combines relative quiet of the residential area with nightlife few blocks away.
The rooms are claustrophobic; bathroom is OK but with lots of little things already broken - although the place looks like it's been worked on rather recently. The bed is good which is of course great. Breakfast not bad at all (bread, pastries, cheese, sausage, cereals, youghurts), just coffee is awful.

Stayed here for four nights in early April. It was fine overall and we had no complaints, but we generally don't make a fuss if things are not perfect. It was probably good value for Paris.
We walked to the hotel from Gare Lazare in around 30 minutes and checked in quickly and efficiently by delightful receptionist. Our room was on the 5th floor at the back so no street noise but did hear voices and doors banging in the corridors during the night so ear plugs advisable. The room size was sufficient but there wouldn't be a lot of space if you have large suitcases. There is a small wardrobe, which contains a small fridge, and there is also a desk and chair plus tv and small bedside tables. Windows slides open and air conditioning worked fine. Good blackout curtains.

Large walk-in shower (no bath) with good pressure and plenty of hot water, which took a while to come through at times. There was no proper attachment to hang the shower hose from but we managed to rig it up so it was hands free. The bathroom could do with more shelf space and hooks. Soap, shower gel and tissues provided. Room cleaned to good standard and fresh towels provided daily. Reception area is spacious but in need of some updating and seating was damaged. We didn't have the breakfast. Elevator had room for 3-4 people with bags and seemed efficient plus it wasn't noisy during the night.
No cafes in Rue Gauthey but we walked up Rue Des Moines to Square des Batignolles where there were some nice cafes and restaurants and antique stalls.

Just come back from 3 days in Paris and stayed in the ART HOTEL. We arrived early and they had no problem letting us book in early. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. Staff were friendly, spoke English and gave us good directions to local metro, cafe, etc. The nearest metro was a 5 minute walk and I felt the area was fine and did not see groups hanging around or feel intimidated. The two cafes either side of the metro are great for breakfast and on Rue Guy Moquet we found La Chope cafe where the food was excellent and very reasonable in price. Sacre Coeur is a good, uphill 25 minute walk but certainly worth it for the views. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you don't mind a bit of metro travel.

Hotel is conveniently located close to metro Brochante, just two blocks away. Small rooms, but cleaned every day. Good continental breakfast considering the price and local food traditions. In general, very good base to explore Paris at a reasonable price.
