We discovered Le Cristal on the second night of our 4 day/ 3 night long weekend in Paris, and returned for dinner on our last night, having enjoyed it so much the first time.
Our waiter was either impressed with, or amused by, my 35 year old schoolboy French, and provided us with excellent service.
The Pave steaks were superb although, typically for France, you have to tell them to cook your steak Well Done to get it passably Medium.
Having high expectations of wine, in France, can often, I find, be repaid with disappointment, however, I have to say that the wine here was excellent and thoroughly enjoyable.
If you like cheese, then make sure you leave room for the exquisite cheese board and really finish your meal in style. Being in the middle of Paris, it's never going to be cheap, however, we thought that €50 pp for 3 courses and wine was acceptable, given the quality, service and location.
Location is perfect, right next to the Arc de Triomphe, and a short walk from our Hotel the Acacias Etoile (see separate review). If you're on the Metro/RER then get off at Charles De Gaulle Étoile. If you need a break from your shopping at Cartier on the Champs Élysées then just walk through the Arc subway and it's in front of you, on the right.
