“A Good Retreat for the Four Texans”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014 via mobile

This bar is fun, funky & moderately priced for this section of Paris. We went on a Sunday night and there were only locals hanging around. The older bartender was pretty somber, however the younger fellow was a delight. He shared bar stories with us and explained the list of Harry's cocktails. The date after each drink is the year that the cocktail was invented. They sell a cocktail recipe book which is quite fun as a momento. If you are in the Parc Vendome area, stop in for a drink.

“If you're looking for cocktails this is the place!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

Saw this place in our guidebook and decided we needed to check it out when in the area. It was a wet day and this was a lovely dark, warm, cosy bar. The drinks menu is extensive and cocktails were around 13euro each. I decided against the bloody mary which is the bar speciality and had another vodka based cocktail. Nothing extraordinary about it, tasted nice but had better and had worse. Partner had a beer. No wine on the menu at all which was unusual for Paris. Nice mix of local crowd and tourists. Staff were very polite and well turned out. Wouldn't go out of my way to see the place though!

“yeah!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

We really needed to go to Harry's based on the history. Part of me was afraid it would be a tourist trap. No worries. Mostly locals, bartenders were awesome to watch. And the bloody Mary lived up to its reputation. Go, but please don't just go in to take a picture. Please say Bon Jour.

“Great Cocktails!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 May 2014

The cocktails served amazed me, not only are the delicious but they also are served by a crew of old-fashioned dress bar men that are extremely polite (unusual for Paris). I did not try the food, but the place if more somewhere you go for a drink in the evening I feel. I may be wrong though.

“NOSTALGIC!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2014

Lovely old bar, reminded me of some of the old bars back home, forty odd years ago. Two bar men, both friendly, very we'll turned out, really good service. It's like sitting on the set of a '40's gangster movie. It was very quiet, but that was appreciated after a hectic morning. Great Turkey Club Sandwich, beer and a Manhattan for 'she who never drinks!' A great place to rest up and recharge your batteries!
