“Absolutely lovely hotel with standout service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2008

I stayed here twice in May with my husband, for 6 nights total. We completely enjoyed our stay & have zero complaints. We would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for quiet luxury with personal service near the Place des Vosges. I travel to Paris frequently & the service here stands out among the best.

I stayed in a Standard room (top floor, gable roof) for 3 nights, before changing to the Suite de la Reine (one of the 2 top suites) for 3 nights. The Standard was tiny but newly decorated in a chic decor (gray fabric walls, nice furnishings) & very well thought out, with a nice bathtub, separate WC, flat panel TV & hidden minibar. Those who like a lot of space & light (normally me) may find this room a bit claustrophobic, but I found it cozy; note that there is not much room for luggage though. The Suite had enormously high ceilings & 3 full-length French windows overlooking a quiet side street; again, it's not huge, but the ceilings & windows give it a big airy feeling with lots of light, & it is luxuriously decorated, with a separate lounge, 3 bathroom areas & a walk-in closet.

The lobby bar is a lovely place to gather for drinks, with cozy chairs & a well stocked honesty bar. The hotel was adding a gym & spa downstairs when we were there. The front courtyard is beautiful - walls covered with ivy - & makes the hotel feel like a quiet haven, just off the Place des Vosges (a very special corner of Paris, in my opinion; it's a lovely place to sit under the trees). The location is great for wandering the Marais & is a short walk to useful metro lines. I think the internet access could be improved though - it would be useful to have a separate area with a PC & printer, instead of a laptop next to the reception desk.

The service is what really stands out about this hotel. Everyone, from the bellman to the receptionists, was sincerely helpful & friendly. I even received 2 personal emails from the hotel after we left asking how we enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommended.

  • Liked — Genuine & warm service, lovely decor, great location
  • Disliked — Rooms a bit dark

Hotel Pavillion-de-la-Reine is a cute hotel in a great location. We stayed at Pavillion-de-la-Reine for two nights in early August. Our room was cosy but very nicely decorated. The bathroom was spacious and the room had a really nice view of the inner courtyard. The service was very friendly and attentive (in both French and English. The Continental breakfast was also pretty good. Hotel Pavillion-de-la-Reine is a great hotel, stay there if you don't mind spending spending in excess of $450 a night!

Pavillion de la Reine was the perfect spot to stay for our first trip to Paris. We researched and found it on TA and based on the reviews decided to give it a try. The hotel is truly beautiful - we stayed in a room on the 3rd or 4th floor that was right next to the elevator (the only negative). Upon entering, we discovered it was a beautiful little suite decked out in cream and red toile with a lovely beadroom, sitting area and bath.

The staff was so friendly and helpful, recommending restaurants, walks, etc. And the location was great - about a 10 min walk to the Seine, 20 min walk to Notre Dame. The hotel is tucked away on a little park square called place de Vosges, and is surprisingly quiet. Closest Metro stop was Bastille. We'd def recommend this spot to anyone!

  • Liked — The beauty of the hotel and it's location
  • Disliked — being next to the elevator - a little noisy but not too bad - and the hotel is rather expensive

My wife and I spent a wonderful week. The staff was very courteous and helpful, the room and service "5 star+" We will make this our home in Paris for all future visits.
The location on The Place de Vosges made it even more grand. It is with in walking distance of many attractions, and a short taxi to everything, avoiding the big city part of Paris.

We just returned from a 2 week trip to France with our 2 children (8 and 10 year old boys). We spent 5 nights at the Pavillon de la Reine in the Victor Hugo suite which had a living room with a pull out for the boys. The room was spacious and nicely appointed with a stereo and even a small kitchen. The location on Place de Voges is lovely and the hotel's courtyard is beautiful. Our rate included a nice breakfast in a lovely vaulted room downstairs. The hotel's honesty bar was a welcome escape after long days touring Paris. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful in choosing among the many local dining options. We had a perfect stay and will definitely stay at Pavillon de la Reine when we return to Paris.

We went to Paris to see an Opera at the Bastille Opera House and booked Pavillon de la Reine for the location - just a five minute walk away. The hotel is a beautiful oasis just off the lovely Place des Vosges and I defy you not to be charmed by the look of the place as soon as you step through the archway into the inner courtyard. We thought the best rooms were those overlooking the courtyard - the luxury category - and well worth the bit extra. The staff were all most welcoming and if you want to stay in the Marais you should not stay anywhere else.

If you can afford to stay at Pavillon de la Reine you can probably afford posh restaurants - but our best tip on a warm evening is to step round the corner to the Place du Marché Sainte-Catherine where there are several small local cafes around this very pleasant little square.

  • Liked — High quality, comfortable, friendly, quiet, great location
  • Disliked — Range of food available for room service small

My husband and I spent his 40th birthday in Paris at Pavillon de la Reine. Our room was lovely, well appointed, clean and quiet. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfasts were outstanding. What an incredible place to spend Christmas! When we return to Paris, we will always book this hotel in the future.
