Based on my experience of two recent stays, this is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in, particularly for a large city. It is extremely quiet and has a restrained and luxurious quality about it, which I found refreshing after a number of recent stays in 'design hotels'. It is extremely well located for the Marais and other parts of central Paris and I found myself wanting to get back to the hotel, even to just sit and read the paper in the downstairs sitting area.
What also really set it apart was the level of service, not from one or two staff, but everyone I came into contact with and with every interaction. As examples, on my first visit, I got an unprompted call from the front desk when I was on the way to the airport to confirm that a large fax had been successful sending. On my second visit, staff went beyond the call to follow up lost luggage (by my airline) and then ensure it was properly re-directed by the airline after it turned up afer I had checked out. Small things, but it was refreshing to see people using their initiative.
I was lucky that on both occasions I was able to take advantage of a summer special that was advertised on their site, however would stay there regardless after this experience.More
