So much to see; spent a couple of hours here and just barely began to see everything. Wonderful collection of art. A must see when in Paris.

“A must do and see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

Go early to avoid crowds, arrive 30 to 40 minutes before opening in the morning. Stay until 10.30 or 11 am and come back for another visit (early) if you haven't seen enough. There is a lot to take in here!

“Crowd Scene”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

Some great works obscured by seething masses. The only pleasures are to be found in the smaller rooms where the mobs don't go. Never again.

“Beautiful and massive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014

The Louvre was simply amazing. It is so grand and so opulent, and very much worth seeing. We spent an afternoon here and could have spent much, much longer. We were there in September and it was quite busy, however we found that by entering from the subway, the lines were way shorter and we waited only about ten minutes to get in. The entire building, not just the pieces on display, is a work of art. From the walls to the archways to the stair cases, everything is stunning. I'm glad we made time to actually explore the hallways and exhibits and not just take in its grandeur from outside.

“Another must-visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2014 via mobile

Second visit, this time with teens. This museum is super busy in the summer. Make sure you allow time to visit all sections. Be ready for a lot of walking and stairs. The most interesting part for me was the huge majestic paintings from the 28th century and of course the Mina Lisa. Be ready to "squeeze" through the crowd to be able to take photos. Make sure you also visit the Egyptian section with many interesting artifacts. Tithe good news: under 18's students get in for free with valid ID. This will perhaps be one of the major highlights of a Paris trip.
