This has to be one of my all time favourite attractions, even before you enter, the Louvre surrounding are enormous and spectacular in design. It will take you 2 hours just to view the outside areas. Once inside there are so many things to see and everyone will have a particular item they desire to see, for me it was the Mona Lisa, and the Roman antiquates. We spent half a day wondering around at a fairly quick pace but every now and then you find yourself losing time admiring something special and there is a lot of special things. I won't tell you what to see, or how long to stay, but a tip is to buy your ticket before going that way you avoid the long lines buying tickets. Also take a capacity camera ha ha. There are also maps and other items that you can get to help you plan your day there, me l like to just wonder through. Signs are everywhere so you won't get lost and attendants are there to help, just smile and ask the question. Hope you enjoy....

The louvre is amazing , the size and scope of this place is beyond imagination . I never dreamed it was this huge. The historical significance of this place is beyond description. We went on Bastille Day , so admission was free ! The line to get in here is very long, but moves fast when admission is free. You can easily spend the day here, and not see everything, so allow plenty of time here.

This place is huge. It is impossible to see it in a day but do not let that discourage you. A little time there is better than none. We went during the height of tourist season, around Bastille Day which was even worse for crowds. Our bus tour consisted of about twenty people. Buses parked in a lower level lot. We did not get a chance to see the outside of the museum since we would have to pay, again, to get in. There is not air conditioning. The outside temp was in the high 80's the day we were there and we got a warning it would be hot inside. The famous exhibits, Mona Lisa, Venus de Milo, etc. were over overcrowded and, in my opinion, not worth the bother. We followed the advice of someone who had been there previously to see Napolean's apartments. That was very good advice since it was very impressive and not overcrowded. My advice is to avoid the common attractions like the Mona Lisa and go see the less touristy places within the museum. You will not be disappointed. Wear good walking shoes and take a bottle of water. There are shops near the entrance that we entered like LaLique, a place to purchase stamps, a cafe upstairs and more.

One of the funniest things we noticed was the absurd crowd of people simply taking pictures of the mona lisa. Not only did they walk about countless masterpieces, but they are taking a photo that they can find about a million copies of online.
