“Vast Museum !!!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014 via mobile

What a collection....One whole day is not enough.....Each wing has it's own speciality.... I liked Monalisa, Egyptian civilization, Victory symbol...Museum reminded me of Da Vinci Code....Art works was really great..... Actually it cannot be covered in one day..... Myself and my husband were hurrying up to cover entire museum..... First visit this museum in Paris.... I was astonished to see the collections over here.....

“Easily spend a day or more here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

Long queues to get in through security but once inside can either queue to buy tickets or use self service. Enormous place so don't expect to see everything. Good place to spend a rainy day (Monday is good a lots of other museums are closed). Large crowds to see the popular things (eg Mona Lisa) but other areas relatively quiet. Leave bags etc at left luggage at the entrance but take water etc with you as long queues to get drinks and very warm in some areas.

“Great museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

Great museum and obviously a landmark for Paris. It was very busy when we went which made it hard to see some of the exhibitions. Good prices though and under 18's go free which I think is very good.

“Very busy - but a must see”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

The Louvre in Summer is particularly busy as it is the busiest period for tourists. Do not expect a peaceful quiet cool art gallery, it is quite the opposite! However, the layout is well designed and there is so much more to see than just the Mona Lisa! In terms of the Mona Lisa, expect a lot of crowding and jostling, you will have to fight to get close to her!
Worth remembering that if you have a European ID and are under 25, you gain free entry! Just show your passport, ID card or drivers license at the entrance.

“Impressive - but ...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

The Louvre is amazing, impressive and overwhelming. The works of art and historical artefacts displayed are fascinating. Even someone who is not an art expert (like me) could spend days roaming around.
However -- the staff at the cafes are extremely unfriendly. As you can imagine it was very crowded. There is lack of toilets, evidenced by long queues. Most of all, I would suggest that the museum forbids taking pictures. There are huge crowds of people in the most popular sections of the museum, and many people stop abruptly or poke other people with iPhones mounted on sticks in order to take selfies. It could all be solved with everyone being a bit more considerate, but it was just too crazy.
