Every time I'm in Paris, I must stop by Colette. It's a must! I am guaranteed to see the coolest, hippest clothing, shoes, jewelry and people. One time I ran into Karl Lagerfeld ( actually INTO him) and their layout and style are legendary. Nothing more hip and Parisian than stopping by Colette:)

“Vastly overpriced haunt of those who need to be seen!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2014 via mobile

No doubt colourful but otherwise very difficult to see the appeal of this overpriced homage to all that is pointless and kitsch. Staff are arrogant, service incredibly slow and the basement is proud to offer a water bar boasting 100 varieties of water. Yes really! Puts me in mind of the story of the emperor's new clothes.

“The Mecca”

Best collection of everything from street wear to couture I've ever seen in the USA or Europe. Great aesthetics/set up. Staff is courteous enough. Check it out.

“Not very impressed, but may be worth a trip if you're nearby”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2014

I stopped by Colette after reading online that they carry edgy versions of Celine bags. This happened to not be true the day I stopped by. (Instead I found a beautiful blue python mini luggage bag for 4,000 euros at the Celine store on Rue Montaigne, a python trapeze (in all black or navy blue) for 3,000 euros on Rue Victor Hugo, and the edge handbag in all black, blue, or black/ivory also on Rue Victor Hugo).

I did fall in love with the beautiful display of Cristina Ortiz Jewelry, which recently debuted at Colette a few months ago. I think you can only purchase her pieces at Colette and Luisaviaroma.

The fiance also enjoyed oggling the Vertu phones displayed on the ground floor, although there is a bigger selection at Galeries La Fayette.

I was not impressed by the conceptual fashion. I wanted to be awestruck, but that didn't happen. I probably spent less than 5 minutes perusing the clothes. Check out Colette online to see what the store offers and see if it's worth your time.

“A unique shopping experience, near the Tuileries Garden”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 January 2014

I can hear the techno music just thinking about Colette. It is where the cool kids go in Paris. This middle-aged American housewife also enjoys it. See the latest fashions and trends. I don't actually buy much here other than small gifts and candles, but it is always a unique experience and you never know who you will spot here as well. Check out the quirky little items at the cash registers, they are hit and miss, but you can get great inexpensive gifts sometimes.
