“Far exceeded our expectations”

Wonderful experience from the Meet and Greet service at the airport to the day we left. The suite was spacious, quiet, and even had a doorbell! Room service was elegant where the drinks were served, the table arranged to our satisfaction, and the napkin placed in our lap! We had arranged for the bed and breakfast which normally is limited to certain hours at other hotels. Well, due to our schedule we weren't always ready for breakfast in the morning and were informed that we could have our breakfast at any hour of the day. Maid service is twice a day. In the morning they come to make up the room and freshen up the room. In the evening two people arrived to turn down the bed, freshen up the room, and offer their service for anything we might need. We were surprised to find several tv channels in English - much appreciated by my hubby and the fact that our American elections were underway. The concierage was invaluable when it came to making dinner reservations. It didn't matter where we wanted to go, they seemed to have the pull to not only get us in at the last min. but arrange for the perfect table. We were in Paris to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. When we first went to the suite we were surprised to find a full bottle of champaigne, and the large fruit torte with a note from the hotel congratulating us and thanking us for staying with them. Thereafter each day we came home to find a different treat and drink from the hotel with a note saying that they hoped we were enjoying our visit! Dinner at Le Cinq was exquisite and reviewed in the restaurant reviews on here. We found everyone who worked there to speak English fluently, be very friendly, and willing to help in any way they could. There was only one area that they disappointed - that would be with tours via the concierge. He only had one tour company using vans that he seemed willing to discuss. Luckily I had done my research ahead of time and knew others to call.

When you think of superlatives for hotels, George V defines them from the perspective of food, service, facilities and location. From the moment you arrive, you will know that you made the right choice. Everything that you eat during your visit in the best in class. Even the cheapest room is very nicely done.

Some of our favorites included:
* The restaurant in the courtyard
* High tea in the afternoon
* Complimentary shoe shine service
* Marble in the bathroom
* THE most comfortable beds in the world
* The french fries are the best in the world as is almost everything.

While it is a lot of money, you will never regret staying here.

The George V is so good that you can't even be bothered to leave the hotel to visit Paris. Which is just outside the door.

Need a dinner reservation at another difficult to access restaurant? Have a word with the concierge. Skip the queues for the Louvre? Get pre-bought tickets from the concierge...

I'm a bit 'careful' with money. I'll park a mile away to save a couple of quid on parking. I bought an electric clippers and cut my own hair. My wardrobe consists of company T-shirts and jeans.

But occasionally I have brought to my attention items that appear expensive but are actually terrific value. Bargains in fact. So, for example, the Mercedes SL55 with AMG tuning. Costs the fat end of 100K. Absolute bargain. Fantastic. Is it it ten times better than a car costing 10k? No. It's a hundred times better.

Same with George V. We've stayed there a few times and it just gets better. How is that possible? Costs a fortune. But still an absolute bargain. Gone kid friendly so kids get tours of back-stage ie kitchens, house-keeping etc. Tag along. Bring your camera.

Kids even get pastry lesson with pastry chef. Gratis. Two Michelin star restaurant and they find time to knock out Madeleines with the kids.

My wife's favourite hotel in the whole world.

Quite simply the greatest hotel in the world. I've traveled to 6 continents and stayed at over 75 5star hotels and this is in the top 3. I went for my honeymoon and everything was perfect.

I still dream about the chocolate croissants.

I just got back from a surprise weekend trip to Paris with my boyfriend. One of the many wonderful surprises he had in store for me on this perfect weekend was booking the George V, as I have always wanted to stay here. It was an amazing experience! The room is very spacious by Paris standards, with a full entryway hallway, a huge bathroom with separate shower, tub, and a separate mini-room for the toilet. Our room had a king size bed and also a private balcony that looked out onto the marble courtyard. Service was great. I had forgotten to pack hair product, so I called and asked the concierge if they could send some up, and there was a knock at the door with hair gel in under 5 minutes! Of course they charged us 40 euros for that little bottle of hair gel, but we accepted it was all going to be expensive (well, for my bf anyway who paid for the whole thing!). The location is amazing as it is right in the "Golden Triangle" which has some of the best shopping in Paris (LV, Gaultier, Hermes, etc. were all literally outside our door), as well as the Champs-Elysees being just down the street. It also only took about 15 minutes to walk to the Eiffel tower, and the subway station was a five minute walk, on a line that took you directly to the Marais, and it was also easy to get to St. Germain, and really anywhere. They had a complimentary service where you could leave your shoes in a bag on the doorknob and they would shine and clean your shoes and return to you before 7:00 am the next morning, each shoe crisply individually wrapped. Even details like discovering there's actually ice in the ice bucket (instead of having to go find some) were great. It was a wonderful stay, in the best city in the world, and I will always have extremely fond memories of the hotel.

Well I was expecting much, and the hotel delivered. It is very very good. The rooms are huge by Paris standards, with excellent bathrooms and amenities. Food was amazing in every way, especially room service.
The service was also great, it might not be as nice as in Asia or the US but as Paris goes it is unbelieveable. Everyone spoke english and was curtious.
The Spa is also very good, with a pool and jacuzzi as well as a steam and sauna room. It is not a usual thing to find such a nice and relaxing spa in a city hotel.
The location is also great, second to none, on the shopping mile and only a few steps away from the Champs.
The best choice in Paris by far

Very good hotel but for the price my boyfriend could have bought me a car. Nice treat for my 30th Birthday.
Rooms were excellent but service was a little cold but its France.
Paris is the home of love but in the films sitting in a restaurant alone looks romantic, not so much in real life.
