A very pleasant place to spend a couple of hours and have a picnic if you need a break from the city centre attractions

Although I have visited Paris on many occasions, I had never heard of this park and only discovered it when looking at a list of must-see places in Paris, where it's described as the most beautiful park in Paris. I have not been to every park in Paris, but I can understand why it's being given such high praise. I enjoyed walking around some of the many paths, especially crossing the lake and standing in the miniature roman temple with its amazing views over northeast Paris. Parc des Buttes Chaumont is a natural haven from the city where you can enjoy peace and quite surrounded by a wide variety of plants and trees.

A lake, a waterfall, many places on the grass to sit and sunbathe or chill with friends. Beautiful views of the city and the Sacre Coeur from the top. There is a huge cave where the waterfall ends that you can walk in. It is very very pretty and a good break from the city. Would recommend for a romantic date as the view from top is good and the place is pleasant.

Among the great parcs in Paris and gardens (jardins) and also the forests ( the "bois" ) at the
exit from the city, Des Buttes Chaumont especially deeply engraved in my mind. That is a public parc located in the northeast of Paris. Not the biggest, but also not small,it has got some peculiar charm with all these roads, paths, an artificial lake in the center of it,suspension bridges, the waterfalls, even one cave, that giving us one impression of some kind of the wilderness. Then, there is on one of the numerous hills, the Temple de la Sybille, perched literally at the top of the cliff, fifty meters above the lake. You may have here some of the real enjoyment, as to take rest on the slopes of the greeny lawns amid the beautiful trees, looking down at the winding paths and many well regulated creeks and waterfalls that throw its waters from the heights of the surrounding cliffs. Down along the roads, there are plenty of the benches and some locals for everyone. Then some little restaurants within the parc, give also the opportunity to spend the lovely hours in this green oasis of Paris.
Certainly not to miss.

Few tourists know of the Parc des Buttes Chaumont but it's a luscious green space with hanging bridges, rock formations, a gazebo perched high on a hill overlooking the city, and the best thing...the cave and its waterfalls. You can jog, walk your dog, eat ice cream, or just enjoy the scenery.
