Montmarte is perfect to wander round. It has really pretty architecture and good restaurants. A nice change from central Paris

This is definitely a must see landmark when visiting Paris. We toured Pars for 4days and took in all the sights. You MUST visit the huge church on the top of the hill. the surrounding area is beautiful and has many coffee shops to sit and take in the sights

We had a guide from Context that took us to some of the hidden treasures of the area.
Lots of uphill walking and beautiful buildings including some unique churches. This is a great bohemian example of Paris in the old days....and today. Great flea markets, restaurants and shops. Tip....when you exit the Metro stop, use the elevator to avoid an incredible walk up stairs.

Montmartre is a magical area that takes you back in history. You can buy lots of Parisian souvenirs, walk around, have a portrait painted in 20-30mins, and sit for a nice snack or lunch

Just an awesome place to be around

Don’t miss it

While in Paris for a few days, we definitely wanted to visit Sacre Coeur. To get there, you have to go through the Montmartre neighborhood. Once in the area after taking the Metro or taxi, you find yourself going uphill, but there are so many alleys & streets making up what the locals & tour guides call the "Bohemian Quarter.” Unlike others, I didn’t see any painters on this day, but there are an abundance of gift shops and restaurants, more ethnic and culturally diverse than anywhere in Paris. Make sure to find one of the street-side restaurants to eat at, as you will almost find any cuisine you are looking for!

If moving around with elderly or people with mobility or pain issues, this neighborhood may be challenging as you are consistently going on an upward slope. The steps to Sacre Coeur specifically will wear you out if you are in a hurry, or not in good physical condition, so make sure you can climb such a steep area. But from Sacre Coeur, to the famed Moulin Rouge, to Le Mur des te J’aime, to the Van Gogh House, this area has so much to see, taste, and do. You can take the funiculaire up to Sacre Coeur if the stairs are too much, as well as back down. The hilltop in front of the cathedral is THE best view of Paris, and they consistently are holding Masses while you visit. C'est tout l'amour!
