You must spend time walking, biking, watching or boating along the Seine. The river and its banks are the true embodiment of the city. Each bridge that spans it differs in architecture and adornment. I would strongly suggest a Bateaux-Mouches cruise to enable you to slowly take in all of its rich offerings. These are not expensive, and well worth the time. Their speed allows you to take many pictures of the sights along and close by the river, and of the Parisians who sit along its banks. Some of them wave as you go by! Late afternoon is a lovely time.

We rode it in the day and we rode it in the day....too much commercialization and concrete around takes that charm away or probably we were expecting too much....

People strolling along the Seine, whilst taking in the wonderful weather. Walking in Paris is delightful and easy. We observed many barges on the Seine, and were delighted to see people riding bikes with their market vegetables in the baskets.

We took a boat ride along the river seine at 930p--just about sunset--it was a beautiful night and its so beautiful to see the city from the boat--so much fun to see all the people just hanging out along the river--having picnics etc...
