Owner description: This famous Left Bank neighborhood, so named because the numerous university students in the area spoke only Latin to their professors until the French Revolution, preserves an authentic Parisian atmosphere of old.

There's so much to do and see in Paris. However, the Latin Quarter should be at the top of the list. Italian food is excellent here and inexpensive as well as Italian clothing at a lower prices compared to any Paris department store. The small shops have Italian clothing no other department stores carry. Also the shops stay open longer than department stores. This is where local Parisians shop, especially on Sundays.

Nice neighborhood which has some stores, the nice Boulevard St. Germain and many restraints as well as nightlife at weekends like bars and pubs, also discos. Good Metro connections.

This is the real Paris as it was 100 years ago with the excitement of multi cultures blending into excellent food and entertainment or the pleasure of people watching from a cafe with a glass of wine.
It is a wonderful place to paint and even greater to walk and walk. I Love Paris and the Latin Quarter is a great part of it.

I don't think it is a nice area. It's overcrowded, noisy and with lots of greek and merguez restaurants trying to attract tourists. Even if they are cheaper, I shouldn't advice you to book a hotel in this place. You will not be near the major attractions and you will waste your time in the metro.

If you are looking for value for money this is the place to go, not French cuisine but for a cheap meal in Paris you will find something here, did not find them pushy at all just very friendly.
