“No hyatt standard and definitely no Luxury”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

The old charme has fanished!
- smallest room ever
- pretty run down furniture and broken valves in the bathroom
- you wont survive without ear plugs as walls and especially doors are pretty thin

Definititely not the standard you would expect for this kind of hotel and price! I am a big fan of Hyatt but this far away on what you would expect.

The hotel has the best location with walking distance to anything central in Paris! We walled to the Louvre Museum, Notre Dame, the opera and even Champs Elysse and the Eiffel Tower. Perfect! The room was spacious with a view to the opera. However, the place is old and expensive (e.g. classical Parisian), and you may want to consider other options for a more modern hotel. Still, friendly and proffesional service!

Hotel is certainly not a Hyatt standard. Apart from the location, all else is really depressing.

Booked and paid for an Executive Suite as the description spoke of large rooms with excellent views.my room 164 is dark, depressing and gloomy with no light coming in. The Suite is broken up into 3 claustrophobic areas. No tea, coffee machine, not even a small bottle of mineral water as a welcome to the hotel.

Have stayed here before many years ago when it was a Concorde hotel and in an Executive room ( at least 2 categories lower than this Suite) which was far superior.

This is a total rip off and they are unable to change the room.

More disappointing as I spoke to Hyatt reservations prior to making my booking and was assured that the hotel had been renovated. In fact the hotel seems in a far worse condition than my previous stay many years ago!

Would not recommend this to anyone!

The hotel is a bit run down and not up to par for a Hyatt, and the room was quite small (though it is Paris). The location is excellent, across the street from the Louvre, and the staff and service were excellent.

It was nice and very Parisian. But it was not close enough to walk to other sites. Just the Louvre. Rooms were nice. Service was nice (for France). Breakfast was included but left a bit to be desired. Since so many tourist groups use this hotel, you have to get up really early and fight your way to the buffet line. We ended up having breakfast at a nearby cafe.

We arrived for a four night stay and loved the location - yes our room was small but it was clean and the bathroom was very nice - and we had a view of the Palais Royal. I loved opening the double glass doors that kept it quiet inside and looking out the tiny balcony. Check in was efficient and friendly and my Platinum status was mentioned. The Louvre Museum, the Opéra Garnier - a must see - and the Palais Royal are a few steps away. La Madeleine church, Place de la Concorde with it gorgeous fountains, the Tuileries Garden, Sainte-Chapelle and Notre-Dame Cathedral are a 10 minute walk.

I had emailed that it was my husbands birthday during our stay and it was mentioned upon check in but not a single thing was done to mark the special occasion. For a Hyatt in Paris I was very disappointed - since we received very thoughtful welcome gifts of fruit plates, little cakes, water, and chocolate on our pillow at three other hotels of comparable ratings in Paris and London. To be the best to have to attend to the details. Yes, a tea and coffee maker would be a must and a few bottles of water in the room would be so nice. I really dislike those insane minibar prices so we visited the local store.

We needed a laundry as we had been traveling for over three weeks - the concierge had to call and google to find one and gave us a map with a circle on the intersection - it was about a block off but we kept asking and found it. The laundry is just off St Honore on Rue St Jacques. Also, I could not believe the gold ring scam happened just in front of the hotel - we called out "scam" and shooed her away.

You cannot beat this location but for the price Hyatt needs to raise the bar a little make guests want to come back and tell their friends about the fabulous hotel they stayed in - in Paris! The hotel could be one of the best!

(I like tea, lots of tea).

In all seriousness this hotel is about as fabulous as you'd expect. Rooms are ENORMOUS (used to staying in broom-cupboard sized things in Paris), very clean, bed HUGE WHOA like massive. Bathroom was basically in another arrondissement. I think there was a bath, can't remember didn't walk that far.

Also the bar downstairs is lovely, nice breakfast of pastries OJ coffee etc. Priced proportionately to the cost of the room.

Hotel staff are LOVELY. Really good helpful multilingual people. And the other guests are all very nice too. Lots of Americans.

Obviously it's in a great location for tourism, woke up to the Louvre. Just next to line 1 too. Couldn't be more central but it's not noisy at all if you keep the windows shut, and the curtains are blackouts. Good sleep.

As the title suggests I was rather curious as to the location of the kettle, which I was under the impression most 3*+ are meant to have. Perhaps it was in a part of the room I did not venture into.
